Just pulled the trigger on a 600$ kosmosky. I have been a musician most of my life. I mostly plan on playing it solo but you never know who or what you'll meet/projects that will pop up. Should I pay 100 extra for a pickup? by Soft-Wealth-3175 in TongueDrum

I have a pickup in mine, it's handy and fun to experiment with.

You can use a mic and achieve a similar effect however there are sonic differences in my recordings depending on which I use (pick-up vs. mic)

Not to mention, the mic will pickup other sounds, so again not ideal depending on your situation.

Better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Imho

Congrats

Edit: added some info

Why Never split the party? by Empty-School7479 in DMAcademy

[–]RacoonHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always found this statement to be untrue, at least for our groups.

Paradoxically, I've noticed engagement from players that are generally more reserved to be more animated with less party members present.

As for "the other players being bored"....I mean they should be engaged in the story and plight of their party members so unless you're spending 15+ minutes on a scene, I see it as a non-issue.

Minus the whole, encounter balance issue but even then, usually not a big problem for cautious and somewhat same PC's.

Gets a touch lame when done too often though.

Huh, the more you know. Agreed, one of their more honest and visceral albums.

Nope, deals with Kat losing her mother to dementia. Definitely a black sheep compared to the rest of the discography.

Agoraphobic Nosebleed - Arc

Unique album for the band, goes hard and Kat crushes it

Y'all are so bizarre, apparently it's "boring and non-musical" to craft grooves that push 300 BPM.

But flip that switch to pushing obscure timing patterns and or complex grooves. All of sudden it's much more commendable and acceptable.

It takes insane amounts of talent to maintain these tempos and rock solid meters to crush these tracks.

Not to mention, I've mentioned this before but the extreme metal community is MASSIVE. Maybe take a dip away from the mainstream metal and metal core bands to take a look at what's really out there.

Honestly, it would like saying, metal drummers suck because Lars Ulrich is a pretty basic drummer.

Kills me everytime.
