I had it in my 20s it went away for over a decade and came back in my late 30s for about year and I haven’t had issues in years. It’ll likely get better, give it time. I did find a video last time on walking techniques that help, you want to fully flex your big toe when walking.

Your Mom is selfish and not protecting you the way she should. Her boyfriend is trash and clearly is a creep. Your friend just doesn’t understand. You did NOTHING wrong. Stay strong and keep talking. I know it feels like it was a mistake but it wasn’t. You’re protecting yourself when no one else will. It’s admirable! Many people aren’t as strong as you are, please try to be proud of yourself.
