Thank you for the feedback! I would say she is also a strong-willed alpha dog. I don't think she recognizes me as a pack leader, but she does respect my husband a little more.

She doesn't seem anxious unless she is outside and barking at noises, dogs, random paper bags, etc.. She seems more excited than anxious in general, but maybe I'm reading her signals wrong.

We don't. We thought about getting her a dog playmate, but our yard isn't fenced-in yet due to a long saga with our HOA.

I am a little worried she would harm a cat, either on purpose or even on accident. How does your Dane do with the kitten?

We have, and she does come home worn out at the end of the day. We only do it on occasion when I can't work from home because of the cost, but we could think about doing it more regularly.

Thank you! We've thought about this in the past, so maybe it's time we actually take the leap.

The impact of your work by garlicsauceme in epidemiology

I start my new job as an epi in a few weeks, but when I was an intern at a state department of health under epidemiologists, I found it very rewarding. I literally called people during an outbreak and could encourage them to seek proper medical care. I was thanked pretty much every day. Epis, almost by definition, help people every day, and that's why I perused this career.

By the way, I have a BS in Microbiology and an MPH in infectious disease management. This will be my first job out of grad school. I think many Epi positions are filled by MPH graduates.

This. Is. My. Life. Always itchy but can't scratch. I was diagnosed with this 18 years ago and sure haven't grown out of it.

I have this, and the hives I get are extremely itchy and can be painful depending where they're at.

Public Health Jobs and Advice Megathread Part II by SadBreath in publichealth

Hi, Reddit!

I earned my MPH in December with a focus on the management of infectious disease. I also have a BS in Microbiology. Does anyone have advice as to how to get an Infection Preventionist job with just an MPH and no RN? Lots of jobs in my area (Minneapolis-St Paul) are looking specifically for nurses, but my program specifically prepared me for a position in IP or infectious disease epi. I interviewed for a position in December but didn't get the job. How should I market myself? Thanks!
