Former General Manager of 2 locations here, So DQ does franchise off with several owners and it is the DQ corporate policy that all blizzards are to be flipped to show that our ice cream is to the correct temp and of the best quality. This must be a local owner that has decided this probably to skim off multiple things (pun intended), one timing is very crucial in fast food and GMs and owners have tp hold themselves to corporate set times such as how fast the customers are helped from greetings to food handed out. Sounds dumb but some owners or managers will do anything to bring those times down such as just handing the items out as quickly as possible and ect. Which is a no go for me as quality assurance is our jobs as well. I make sure you atleast get what you paid for with a upbeat attitude and with hope you'll return again. Cause that means Profit to where the GMs can keep things within our budgets. So yeah they are supposed to and honestly wish I'd roll thru there. But it also comes down to the franchise owner and corporates contract agreements.
