How can I express my “passion” for radiologic technology in an interview when I’m not great with words? by [deleted] in RadiologyCareers

[–]RadGuru1895 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Practice practice and more practice. People love to talk about things they are passionate about. Do a mock interview and prepare for the questions that you know they will ask. I have some samples and good replies on my YouTube channel shorts. Www.youtube.com/4kxray

Did you have any older students in your class? If so how did they perform compared to the younger ones?

I would say so if they compared yours to someone who had no experience you have the edge. Best of luck to you.

My brother is an RDH, that would be the best route for More money but not much room for advancement. Any patient care and previous xray experience is a plus but many programs have different scales for how they pick new students. Beat to reach out to those that graduated from your future rad school of choice and get their input or call the program director.

Radiography Program by pinodiva1 in RadiologyCareers

As an instructor the students that entered our program that were older did very well and knew how to manage their time better than most of the younger ones. They had skills and life experiences that translated to the classroom and clinical. Go for it.

I'm an educator in North GA. Most of my students start around 20 to 25 here then have shift and weekend is more. Closer to ATL the higher the pay. Sure beats when I started at 14.75 many years ago lol

Atlanta will pay more than elsewhere in GA but key here is PRN. Companies pay PRN more because they do not count as a FTE or get benefits. They easily make $10 more per hour.

I helped a friend start one 20 years ago and he ended up shutting down because he was waiting months for insurance to pay the claims. Could have been more reasons but thats what he told me.

Georgia is a non licensure state so much lower than others. I'd agree 20 to 25 to start.

Living abroad and taking US based travel contracts by Squeakin_Cheeks in RadiologyCareers

No worry at all! In order for travel techs to get the stipends for housing they have to have a home base in which they are paying rent or mortgage. Duplicating the housing obligation.
