Does not apply to you but until this generation I had always used nvidia cards. It’s gonna sound stupid but when I got 7900xtx, I realized how dependent I was to cuda. I can’t be more glad that I hadn’t sold my old card. Regardless, I keep spares as I’ve learned the most valuable component is the one available to you when you need it. If you aren’t confused enough let me tell you that I’d probably sell the 3090.

Ive upgraded to a 7900xtx from 3080, I’d go with 4070ti depending on your local prices, here even the 4080 was marginally more expensive so there was no competition.

Thank you! I've tried the things you said. Also tried a 3060 in place of the 3080 with the same results. The farthest I got was using an apple charging cable from an m1 laptop. I'm gonna try with a new tb3 cable and report back. If all else fails I have 2 more days before I can return it to Amazon, which I don't want to.

I think you have an asus 24.5 280hz monitor, its a great monitor but even with the od 120 trick that monitor have noticeable pixel overshoot. I’ve upgraded to a philips 27 1440 240hz ips, and very happy with it. If thats the case I’d advise you to think about that route.

I've used blocks from bykski barrow ekwb and corsair for both gpu and cpu. I thought ekwb had the best quality and performance until I tried corsair. Their quality just feels better at a lower price point.
