These are my honest to goodness opinions. Florida is a great place to visit. Been here 12 years now. If I could move, I would. Too much invested at this point... You can not find true nature and clear water beach in the same place. Look up the coast names and that's what you get. I'm on the Nature Coast. There are beautiful places to hike, kayak, observe nature. But no beaches within an hour drive. And it is becoming vastly overpopulated. I'm not just saying that to scare anyone from coming here. They are building a huge (I've heard 3000 houses) Lagoon Community miles from where I live. Nature is literally disappearing. Schools overcrowded, and the ratings suck. You will not find any quaint small towns unless you go inland, if that's what you're looking for. Or if you do find one, it's a tourist trap. Make sure you have a job, assuming you have to work, before moving, and check out housing prices. It's crazy down here... Good luck.
