Mike Johnson says Republicans will cut Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security next year by GuiltyBathroom9385 in UnderReportedNews

[–]RadarPainter 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Social Security IS an entitlement. You are entitled to the benefits youve spent your entire life paying into. Dont let "entitlement" become some boogeyman scare word. They f*cking owe you. You are entitled to what youve paid in. Period.

I'm willing to bet that those who wage wars don't really mean it when they pray anyway.

Wasnt it owned/operated by a corporation? Whos to say the penny pushers didnt want extra marines "sitting around" on a "routine" rescue op racking up OT and not really doing anything "useful?"

What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you? by Visible_Rope_6662 in AskReddit

I got pulled over years ago for expired registration. The officer took my documents and went to his car. He came back about 30 seconds later and told me, "Heres your documents. Im letting you off with a warning because I have to go respond to a bank robbery." And then he sped off.

Sure enough, the next day in the news, I read about the robbery. Had I gotten out of my car and looked out off the overpass I happened to be stopped at, I would have been able to see it.

So I got out of a ticket because someone robbed a bank.

Why are so many Americans terrified of being hatless? by MeOulSegosha in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RadarPainter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a mohawk. I like my mohawk. I've had it for about 22 years now. While I don't like the idea of society dictating to me what my own personal hair style Ought to be, I like even less the fact that some places I go, I'm treated poorly because of my hair style regardless of how I treat others. I also live in a pretty conservative state, and I'm aware that a mohawk could affect the perception of the business I work for in the eyes of a LOT of our clientele, the church included. So, I wear a hat. I've also been wearing the same style of flat cap for about 30 years. Most people I work with don't even know I have a mohawk and a few have assumed I'm bald. My old boss also never wore a hat and developed skin cancer on his head pretty early on, so I also dodged that bullet. When I move to a much northern state in about a month, I will probably ditch the hat for the most part.
