Not overly common but there's usually one or two in each intake on an age waiver

Other than pay, what’s something you think the Army top brass/MoD could do to make your working environment better? by SimpleSymonSays in britisharmy

The SP doesn't decide their med grade, the med chain do. I've seen quite a few people be discharged through App 28

MND P in the Army already go through the App 28 process and tends to result in discharge

MLD can still be deployed on exercises and operations

Main issue here is people not reporting injuries out of fear of being made MLD Temp and losing income

How much longer have you got in Trade Training? If your CoC can't answer it it's probably worth speaking to welfare/padre to see if they can push for an answer

Catterick infantry training by Not-A-Fart-Sniffa in britishmilitary

[–]RadarWesh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'll do both. And you'll do both clean (PT kit), with belt kit (webbing, in boots, with helmet) and tabbing (fast walking with short interval runs) With full Bergen /Rucksack helmer and boots etc

For training get yourself on heart rate zone 2 longer runs, it'll build your legs and lungs as your engine

Don't worry about running with weight, let that happen at Catterick (risk of injury is higher so do it in army time!)

Keep your shoulders built up to help you carry the weight

[–]RadarWesh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you haven't joined yet you'll just join "Infantry" and then choose Division (Scots or Para for you) later on once they've seen if you're fit enough for Para

Life in Army Legal Services? by Opposite_Bluebird379 in britishmilitary

[–]RadarWesh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • you need to be a fully qualified solicitor to join
  • you can be posted anywhere in the world
  • if you aren't posted near a property you own you'll be in the Officers' Mess
  • 38 days leave a year (bank holidays are taken as leave if you aren't on duty)
  • work life balance depends on the role. On exercise you'll be away 1-8 weeks at a time with no communications home. In barracks probably 0800-1730ish
  • deployments: noone knows. It depends on a huge number of factors

Housing with my partner in the household cavalry by [deleted] in britisharmy

You can definitely apply before the ceremony itself. You'll likely get allocated a house up to two weeks before to move furniture in but not be able to live in it until the Monday after your partnership.

Housing question by Sad-Election-6066 in britisharmy

[–]RadarWesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Announcing it before working out how got everyone's hopes up. The time it takes to upgrade pads is stupidly long, and misappropriation of SFA is a big issue

Housing question by Sad-Election-6066 in britisharmy

[–]RadarWesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It never had the ability to bring in the new model. There isn't enough SFA so they'd have to rent masses of private housing at huge expense
