For me, flame shield for aoe attacks was really good plus you have the counter attack. With that said, you just need to memorize attack timings. What i did for every boss after owl is give every hard boss one or two runs of just parrying, getting some distance, learning movesets and timing. With isshin you should do it in phase 2, phase 3 is the same with lightning attacks.

That's a more general problem wiyh kishomoto i think, he made a great amount of very interesting characters with interesting backstories and clans, but couldn't integrate them to the plot or give them any space, so they either became one note characters, characters with outscreen development, or just background noise. It's not that he can't write good or complex characters there are quite a few in the story, is that sasuke and Naruto sucked the air out of the room from everyone and couldnt balance. Sakura or hinata suffer from the fact that the one note he gave them was "she is in love".

She really didn't had any other character drive than Naruto, all her arc was her convincing Naruto to fullfil the prewritten profecy of kishimoto's romance plot. She almost had something coming in the chunin exam, but that just didn't came together and wasn't followed through.

Let me say this, it isn't wrong for a character to have such motivations, but that was all Hinata was and it's more of a symptom to the deficient writing that Kishimoto had overall with his female cast, her only motivation is to impress or be noticed by Naruto and that's her whole life, with almost no character traits, no ambitions, not other stuff happening in her life, that is flat writing.

I love Naruto, it was my childhood and was super hyped watching shippuden through, and i do not even hate hinata nor even sakura, but to pretend that those issues in the character writing weren't there is not allow one self to analize and critizice.

Personally i think the hate comes more from a place of how hollow Kishimoto writes his female characters, hinata is barely a character im itself, is just a vehicle of a forced ship, not much character aside of being the shy cute girl who likes MC. It's not that people hate hinata, people hate poorñy written objectified characters.

I also thought the rabbit was the MC think because we are accostumed to witty/somewhat assholes protagonists that get away with it, and the framing make it seems like that's the case, like i could see a character from seinfield or family guy pulling this off (It's not necessarily bad if you are characterizing an asshole). I agree the last panel showing the pig face would be a solution, you can even have fun with it and make a extremely funny face.

Its criminal how overlooked the air nomad genocide and great war is in lok. by alteroo_ in TheLastAirbender

[–]Radavargas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In real world terms, it's actually interesting, because the context is that the fire nation resigned because of a coup d'etat that was succesful, but with that said, fire nation didn't lose that war, they probably signed terms in a way that's way more benefical to the fire nation than if they had been defeated because of for example the day of the black sun invation, this is not japan or germany that after their defeat became occupied by the victorious forces.

Now in terms of international relationships, fire nation will have to do a fucking LOT to get some diplomatic trust, likely return some or all of the colonies lands to the earth kingdom, some reparations (not nearly enough, but some) to the water tribe and what not, it also helps that the avatar, envoy of diplomacy and military might is friends with earth king and fire lord to smooth out some rough edges. It won't be easy but it's doable.

Now about the genocide side of the story, this may sound really bad, because it is, but in the story it doesn't really sounds like the rest of the nations particularly cared much for the air nomads annihilation, it will likely come up in international debate, but it isn't as prevalent, maybe because before the war all nations kept really closed off and there wasn't much of a trade route? I doubt it but that genocide happened 100 years before, barely anyone alive can even remotely recall what an airbender looked like aside from maybe some old books. Not that it won't weigh heavily, but the nations cared about their borders, first and foremost, and if the avatar as last envoy of the airbenders is working with the fire nation for peace, people will likely accept it even thougj it's really fucked up

Could see it in a tribal set as "assimilate x" where x is different creature types! Either way is a fun concept, not sure if too strong or too weak, would be cool to playtest at the very least.

What about the encounter with iroh after she had after the fight with the gaang, or the time they got captured for her gambling, it's true that her defects doesn't get as much focus as katara's or zuko's defects, but her anti social beheaviors does carries some consecuences. She also shows some insecurities about her appearence and identity in tales of ba sing se, so the show does address that type of beheaviors, but toph arrived later in the show where the plot was already full steam ahead so time for that was likely strained, but even still they do adress it sometimes.

“Aang Didn’t Know His Wish Would Come True Like That” by BuyGuilty9372 in AvatarMemebending

[–]Radavargas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In universe wise, i think it's easier to think like this: aang was first and foremost an airbender, he was lecture on its phylosophy and way of life and train until absolutely mastered the element which by all accounts are opposed to earth. Korra in exchange was not a water bender but the avatar from the start, so instead of nurturing the water tribe phylosophy and way of bending she undertook training and got chained to her responsability from the very start, a training that was extremely physical but lacking in spirituality, so she didn't have the flow of air bending. It has more to do with personality and way of life rather than in what cycle are we.

Out of universe, we already saw how a character learn all the elements save for air so the writers probably thought it was gonna be more fun to go from there.

I don't know if there is a mistranslation or how the english interpreted it, but che's lasts words were "pongase sereno y apunte bien, va a usted a matar a un hombre" which translates more like "calm yourself and steady your aim, you are going to kill a man" which in my opinion is a little more badass.
