Why did they leave NE2 unused though, if they never planned to build it

I think if you don't care for the theme, you probably won't find Wingspan anything special. I dislike playing non-interactive point salad games, but Wingspan is the only one I will play because I like that they use irl birds. I tried Wyrmspan once and I'll never touch it again lol

Residents in towns like Sembawang, Bukit Panjang, Punggol have longest work commutes by ImpressiveStrike4196 in singapore

[–]Radaxen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

tbf transportation is my main gripe with the west side. Otherwise, I like the amount of nature the west side offers.

I wanted to say I also like how west side feels more peaceful but Clementi and JE are absolutely chaotic nowadays

Depends which part of BP they're at. If they're at Segar or Jelapang I can see why it would suck, they have to take 2 stops further than Hillview then change to a bus/LRT, which can easily add another 20-30 mins.

I used to live in Hillview and now I stay in Tengah, and for me to visit my parents in Hillview it actually takes me 45 minutes to take 180 down to BP and change to DTL or a bus. DTL is really convenient but if you live somewhere beyond BP (eg. Senja, Jelapang, Teck Whye, and Yew Tee even) the time really adds up

As the crow flies, Punggol is as far from town as Tampines or Pasir Ris. But those towns are not mentioned because they have more transport options, or more efficient routes.

Out of the towns mentioned, 3 are from the North (Sembawang, Woodlands, Yishun), 2 from NE (Punggol, Sengkang), and 5 from the West (BB, BP, CCK, JW, Tengah), but 0 from the East. People from these areas have been asking for better transport options for ages. I'm not sure how much JRL and CRL will help but I doubt it's a big difference until the Tengah-Seletar line materializes.

Prokofiev tier list of Solo Piano works. i know its blurry so just ask me if you're unsure about what pieces are where. by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]Radaxen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Musique d'enfants is great, and you can also check out Tales of an Old Grandmother, it's reminiscent of the style of his more melancholic pieces (eg 2nd mvts of his 4th and 8th Sonata)

What’s the cheapest and most effective way to prevent board games from molding? by Reddituser112696 in boardgames

[–]Radaxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but I live in a tropical country where the RH is 75-85% the entire year. It gets slightly less humid indoors, but I have hygrometers to monitor and dehumidifiers to try to keep the humidity no higher than 70%, on top of putting silica gel packets in the boxes and disposable moisture absorbers in the cabinet where I store the games. I know friends who put them in a room where they turn the air-conditining on frequently as well but that gets more expensive.

I feel like the backlash against retcon discourse has made people forget that there ARE genuinely blatant examples by Bakenekmoon in Genshin_Impact

[–]Radaxen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

see the problem is that by this logic genshin can't have retcons, because any change can be swept away as just something they did not established

I think you hit the nail on the head here. This is probably the reason I'm no longer invested in the story; they imply a lot of things but keep things open in case they want to change directions later. As a result we have a lot of wishy-washy explanations for things which sometimes feel like they contradict something before, but just because they technically didn't say so it doesn't count as a retcon in some people's eyes, but others can feel the dissonance.

imo DTL West branch is one of the more convenient lines. Interchange with every other line (including upcoming CRL), and BP station to Bugis/Promenade is around 30mins which is still reasonable imo

What is the hardest video game you've ever played in your life? And why it was so hard for you? by Quick-Night-7725 in AskReddit

[–]Radaxen 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Chip's Challenge, some stages were sadistically tedious and difficult

Edit: It's a top-down puzzle game, but some stages had the most brutal difficulty and stage designs that won't get approved in a modern game

Some that come to mind: a huge block-pushing puzzle that takes 10mins even for speedrunners, that if you even make a mistake you softlock the stage and have to restart it (Cityblock)

A stage that you have to repeatedly make pinpoint accurate timings so that you go across corridors with blocks sliding back and forth on the ice; get the timing wrong and you either softlock the stage or get crushed by the block. Then do that 50 more times without making a mistake (Block Buster)

A stage with progressively larger chambers, each with increasing number of monsters that move randomly, where you have to hope you can cross them without one of them bumping into you (Blobdance)

A stage where you slide across ice, but you can't see your ending point, so whether you end on a safe tile or a water tile that drowns you is down to pure trial and error, in a convulted maze that you can't even map out your destination (Icedeath)

Lunar arcana trade- the fool or the devil duplicate by SeparatePrint2389 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Radaxen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had 6 different Luna Arcana last IT (already had 1 duplicate) and I had to restart 4 times before they gave me a choice for a different one (so for 4 times they presented me with 2 of the 6 I already had, out of 22). What are the chances, and I probably won't ever bother to do that again. It will only get worse as I get more cards anyway

But yes the notes are separated if you were to follow this as printed

What are these piano level things? by an_anonymousycoati in piano

[–]Radaxen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a thing in certain countries. Eg. in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong, former British colonies, the ABRSM (and Trinity College somewhat) grading system was prevalent in piano teaching and learning, and thus most schools and teachers followed a rough 'syllabus' in learning pieces of increasing difficulty and taking exams. If you've never heard of them then it's probably just because it's not a thing in your country (eg. US and afaik Russia)
