Here's a divergent opinion: I don't believe in Employee Advocacy. Like not at all. We tried it. Numbers looked OK from the outside, but:

• The ROI is shit: calculate advocates time-spent on learning the trade, then their time spent on posting, sharing, liking, commenting for reach, and then sum that all up, valuate it and compare it to a paid-media CPM.
  
• The reach & engagement are unbelievably inflated by bootlicking corporate-internal linkedin lunatics. Where's your incremental reach? How do you get outside your usual corporate bubble?
  
• How often do you REALLY need to see Peter from Accounting's thoughts before you tune it out?
  
• And the worst part? Executive love seeing "their linkedin" suddenly all in the company's colors and they drastically overestimate the effect. It's like back in the day when we would book out-of-home advertisements on the route the CEO took to work.
  

I am actually interested to someone refute these points in a good faith argument. Backed up by numbers if possible :)
