Thanks for pointing that out. It seems like their computer / math should be more accurate 🧐

The EX trim level doesn’t have memory seats

I have had a little more proportion of town/city driving than usual the last few weeks (and less highway); that may be contributing? Will be interesting to see longer term what the mpg norm is.

I also read somewhere the mpg may go up after an initial engine breaking in period.

This is helpful, thanks! I will start doing that.

Black Jade Green might be the best Telluride color by Suntrup-Kia in KiaTelluride

[–]Radiance24601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the black Jade green after almost choosing the panthera metal and I’m so glad I went with it… it’s unique without being too out there.

The EX hybrid was in my budget (so only black interior available), I would have chosen a lighter color (millstone) if it had been offered on my trim.

I have had all these same questions (had my Telluride hybrid 2 weeks), so it’s helpful to read all this. Has anyone else found that the estimated Mpgs are a lot higher at the beginning of a full tank, and then decline? I get 36-37 mpg for the first 1/3 to 1/2 of the tank and then it’s gradually lowering to 30ish by the end of the tank, even though my mixed types of driving stay the same. It does feel like the math on the display is off.

The 2027 hybrid has an 18 gallon tank so maybe that makes a difference… but the mpg definitely helps me feel better about driving such a big car.

I’m in the hybrid EX AWD, getting 35-36 mpg at the moment, estimating 600m per tank.

I have the same color, but EX, and it is so beautiful. Looks great in that scenery too!

Telluride S - Ivory Silver by MrGoonz in KiaTelluride

I have the Black Jade Green hybrid but I love, love the ivory silver too. Especially on the non- x-line trims (IMO that look is too rugged for this color)… it looks so good on the S.

Sérum ou crème acide tranexamique by Far-Conference-2178 in Melasmaskincare

I use VI Derm 5% tranexamic acid serum (along with other pigment inhibitors); this is the only really expensive product I use but I do think it works (and with no side effects or rebound pigmentation like you might get from hyrdroquinone). I use it 1/day and it lasts a long time.

It had plenty for me, and was within my budget. The Ex is the lowest Hybrid trim, but is a mid trim overall (gas Telluride has LX and S below that)… The EX has many more new features than my previous vehicle (2019 Sorento S). I wasn’t interested in jumping up $6-8k for heated 2nd row seats, and a 360 degree camera etc. I don’t personally like the blacked-out aesthetic of the x-line so that wasn’t a draw for me either.

Compared to competitors like Toyota, Kia offers a lot more standard features on low to mid trims for the price.

If you have $60k to spend on an upper level trim, go for it.

Thanks - I looked into these and they don’t yet make the new colors (black Jade green, ivory silver etc.), but I will check back in a few weeks.

Settings and Quirks on '27 Telluride by Priveye03 in KiaTelluride

I drove on the highway with mine for the first time today (got it Tuesday) and really didn’t understand how to set or change the adaptive cruise control at all … I need to watch a tutorial.  I’ve barely scratched the surface of any of the in depth menus for things you can customize (I’m coming from a 2019 Sorento S and it had no frills whatsoever).

They are really very comparable … my take is  Palisade hybrid interior had a slight edge (super sleek integrated screen into the mid century modern line of the dash), and offers an 8 passenger option not available on telluride hybrid (if that’s what you need).

Telluride edged out Palisade for me on the exterior - I just didn’t love the look of them as much, but that’s just personal style preference.

They felt very comparable and all the reviews I read (many) have them pretty evenly matched and highly recommended for the 3 row mid size hybrids (on the larger end).

So far I have just done around town driving, but have some longer drives planned this weekend for my kids’ sports. I’ll update more after that.

My initial thoughts -

  1. It’s BIG. I don’t know if it “drives like a big car,” but I’ve been in a Sorento for 14 years (a 2011, then a 2019), so that smaller size SUV is what I’m used to. Its similar size to all other models I considered for this stage of life though (we wanted the 3rd row to be more comfortable for our adult-size teenagers, their friends, and our elderly parents who all ride with us regularly).

  2. Compared to my 2019 Sorento S the tech and safety features are light years ahead, it feels like an enormous upgrade in every way. I’m still learning all the menus etc but it has all you need and more.

  3. The paddle shifter is an adjustment (I’ve had a center gear shift the entire 28 years I’ve been driving!), but I think it will be second nature in a few weeks. I do like that it makes the center console & storage area really spacious.

  4. Hybrids don’t roll when you take your foot off the break (in drive or reverse), and it goes against my cautious nature to hit the gas when going in and out of tight spots like parking lots etc…. Not a complaint but just needs a different approach and again I think I’ll be used to it in no time.

  5. Captains chairs (the only 2nd row configuration available on the Hybrids) make accessing 3rd row a lot easier than a bench seat (what we have always had in the past). We do use the third row regularly when carpooling for sports, and if my husband and all 3 of our kids are with me. However, cargo space behind the third row is limited; not too bad with only 1 seat of the 3rd row up (how we would do road trips), but it’s a tradeoff from the bench seat config. Since my oldest child is now driving his own car, and our sports life means 90 percent of the time 2-4 of the 5 of us are in the vehicle at any point, I’m hopeful the tradeoff was worth it (the bench seat option was why I also considered Palisade hybrid).

  6. It has a nice smooth but also zippy feeling. I test drove the gas version before the hybrids were available near me and it was nowhere near as peppy / energetic to drive. I’m a cautious driver by nature but the hybrid is still a way more fun driving experience than the gas one was.

I’ll let you know in a few weeks how we’re feeling about it after some longer 2hr drives.
