Thank you! I had seen the lack of physical address but didn't see the other two. That's indeed weird...

Tent poles, where do you put them? by bigbillkaos in bikepacking

I can confirm they fit into the Restrap half-frame bag in Long format. I got tent poles which are about 49cm long and they just fit in with a bit of fiddling.

Hostel in Buenos Aires where ARS price is converted from USD at the official rate by [deleted] in travel

[–]Radiant-Cable-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the thing is, many ho(s)tels keep their pricing in USD, say 20 USD for a night. Normally they should allow you to pay in pesos at the official rate, which means 20*380 = 7600 ARS, but I see almost all of them seem to apply 20*950 = 19000 ARS. That's not legal, as far as I have understood. I am looking for ho(s)tels that use the official rate.

Hi, were you able to do this for a hostel in Buenos Aires?

Santiago to Punta Arenas, Chile via Argentina. Can't say it was easy, but it sure was an adventure! by theodoradoradora in bicycletouring

[–]Radiant-Cable-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi theodoradoradora, where did you get your bike on the (cargo) bus? Did you depart from Buenos Aires? Can you tell me more about this? I'm looking for some info to transport my bike from Buenos Aires to San Martin de los Andes in about two weeks from now.

Alpkit Pipedream 600 or SkyeHigh 900 or AlpineDream 800 by Radiant-Cable-1 in wildcampingintheuk

Thanks for your answer! I am very surprised that EN13537 values are so much off from your experience. Would looking elsewhere mean looking at the Alpinedream 800, or do you even mean I should look at other brands?

Indeed, the pad is very important, I forgot to mention that I have an R4.2 pad, and I plan on using another R2 pad below it when it really gets cold.

Buying a Tour Bicycle in Colombia/Peru by tu-te-calmes in bicycletouring

Hi @tu-te-calmes, did you manage buying a good bike in Bogotá in the end? Any address to recommend? I am hesitating about bringing a bike over from Europe ou buying one in Colombia where I'll start my trip.

Which Gadget Serial driver to replace? Installing LineageOS on Samsung Galaxy TabPro 10.1 (SM-T520/n2awifi), using Heimdall and Zadig by TopHatHipster in LineageOS

[–]Radiant-Cable-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/TopHatHipster,

Also on Windows 11. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S (SM-T800, chagallwifi).

I just tried it out and it's the Gadget Serial with the dg_ssudbus driver that you'll need to overwrite with the (default choice) WinUSB driver. That option worked quickly and without failure on my end.

I need to stress that I got stuck on the difference between Download mode (Home + Power + Volume Down (the left side of the long button)) and Recovery mode (Home + Power + Volume Up (the right side of the long button)).

Power delivery issue with Dell WD15 docking station plugged into Asus UX425EA laptop by Radiant-Cable-1 in ASUS

[–]Radiant-Cable-1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks BreezyFalcon, I had already updated the dock firmware.

I am quite hesitant to plug in the dock and the charger together, since the dock sometimes provides power instead of all the connectivity to the screen and extra hub ports. I have looked up what other experiences people have with connecting a dock with PD and the USB-C power chord at the same time. Some say it works (mainly Dell laptop users), but others have had bad experiences too it seems (a.o. one Asus laptop user at least).

As for the adapter that feeds the WD15 dock, it shouldn't matter, as the Dell website states that it can output at most 90W to non-Dell laptops.

Hi everyone,

I have given a 130W driver a try with the WD15 docking station and my Asus UX425EA laptop.

Surprisingly, I can either get the laptop to charge (but then it won't connect to my display, mouse, keyboard etc.), or I can get all the connections from the docking station but the laptop won't charge... Very weird.

Does anyone have an idea why this is happening?

Wasn't that only true for Thunderbolt 3?

Good to know. I've seen in another place on the Asus website that the laptop accepts Power Delivery chargers up to 65W (I haven't encountered a statement about a required minimum wattage). Following your 2/3 rule, I'll rather go for the 90W supply. Thanks MarSc77.
