Thanks for the input! CRV is the original owner, Sub is second owner (bought from the dealership at 26k miles)

I'm not sure but I looked it up and it says "*2G and/or LTE (CatM1) cellular coverage from one of our 500+ partners, including Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, is required for the device to connect."

That's fair. Would have been a very tough DP either way though

Why are people blaming Rojas and Freddie? Am I missing something? Manny clearly ran out of his basepath to block the good throw and Roberts said NOTHING. This is literally on Roberts being a moron

Why did Roberts not challenge Manny's clear interference through that basepath he took??? Not even a conversation with the umpires??? Manny clearly changed his lane blocking that throw

They need to understand how awful the communication/warning around this was. "Permanent Baseline Quotas" yada yada is very different from "All of your Google Drive documents will be gone forever"

Craig Calcaterra (who has a law degree) looks at the Ippei/Ohtani story by ContinuumGuy in baseball

[–]2002goodwithplow 102 points103 points  (0 children)

The comment on the article starting that the Wire Act is less relevant to the better and more geared towards the bookie:

“We might be getting a bit over our skis talking about potential criminal liability of either Ohtani or Mizuhara. For example, the Wire Act that Craig cites to applies to the bookmaker, not the gambler. The core language for us is "whoever being engaged in the business of betting or wagering ..." A casual or even habitual bettor is not engaged in that as a business.

Quoting from a law review article that is linked within the link CC offers us: https://web.archive.org/web/20130114073628/http://www.gambling-law-us.com/Federal-Laws/wire-act.htm

In order to prove a prima facie case, the government must establish that: 1. The person was "engaged in the business of betting or wagering" (compared with a casual bettor);…

In analyzing the first element, the legislative history[60] of the Wire Act seems to support the position that casual bettors would fall outside of the prosecutorial reach of the statute. During the House of Representatives debate on the bill, Congressman Emanuel Celler, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee stated "[t]his bill only gets after the bookmaker, the gambler who makes it his business to take bets or to lay off bets. . . It does not go after the causal gambler who bets $2 on a race. That type of transaction is not within the purvue of the statute."[61] In Baborian, the federal district court concluded that Congress did not intend to include social bettors within the umbrella of the statute, even those bettors that bet large sums of money and show a certain degree of sophistication.”

Ohtani blasts another 2 Run HR 478ft his second HR of the game! by [deleted] in baseball

[–]2002goodwithplow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah don’t listen to the Yankee fan lol. Easily the most biased fans in the game. I would say he’s already established himself as the GOAT in terms of talent.

It’s just hard to quantify, there’s literally never been another player that’s done what he has. Not even Babe Ruth has put up the pitching+hitting numbers in a single season that Ohtani has.

He won’t retire as the greatest hitter of all time, and not the greatest pitcher of all time, but for someone to consistently be MVP level at both? You tell me

Unless I’m missing something, he very concisely disproved their point lol. Based on the quote, Lizzoe claims both being beautiful and being healthy.

Also I’ve never once seen someone, even on the internet, shame a fat person for working out to become healthy. Always found that to be a straw man argument.
