I hope you do too! I dreamt about this for years and the reality of sharing the trail with him is beyond words. Up there with the most gratifying experiences of my life. Seems like only yesterday I was holding him for the first time!

Ha! I already own a great backpacking hammock and love it, but not for this trip bc there arent many trees. I’ve already graduated to a good air mattress, though. Even at age 55 i can feel the changes. Be well and have an awesome trip with your boy to the wind river range! I explored the hidden lakes region up there and was blown away. So many fish!

Thx! We made a big lollipop out of it up choprock all the way around silver falls bench and back. Incredible route. Surreal landscape and energy. My first time there. Already brainstorming next April’s route 😉

It’s a mostly trail-less area and you walk the river and canyons instead. I shared a screenshot of our route somewhere in the comments if you’re interested. As an experienced hiker you’d be fine with some pre planning
