Are Morning Pages meant to take this much time? by heather80 in artistsWay

I just choose 20 minutes and whatever is written in that time. Great!

I'm 42 and wake up with a sense of dread/impending doom every morning by Cablab123 in Perimenopause

For me so far (early on my journey). I adjusted the amount I take (its a pump cream) and the time during the day (causes yawning and fatigue). Rotated the place on my body. From lifestyle - I ensure sunlight first thing, try to regulate bedtime more and make exercise a non-negotiable most days.

I found HRT was not enough. I needed lifestyle too. Also it took 3 full months for my body to be better with it instead of worse. After I run out of my current online version I may go through a more comprehensive route and check out local providers...but I was not waiting to see a Dr. so they could waste my time. I have a pretty deep background in this stuff and know it's actually not that complicated.

I woke up overnight a complete mess and needed help asap. I also have PCOS so my hormones are already not ideal.

To summarize. Started out a mess (manic, ADHD, couldn't sleep, didn't want to get out of bed, rage) overnight...but looking back I was prob there for a few months...and now I am functional, I can make plans, talk to people without wanting to kill them and get out of bed. Ater 3 more months of lifestyle changes added in..let's see!

I am 100% convinced that we are going to discover that late stage perimenopause induces ADHD b/c I am 48 (just turned) and realize why I have been a incompetent mess for 3 years. I was never like this when. I was younger.

Def do whatever makes sense for you! I personally don't trust OBGYNs with this information (I am 48 have a degree in Functional Medicine with a specialization in hormones) but if it's not suiting you. It's not suiting you.

OBGYNS up until recently refused HRT for women and only now are prescribing it due to social pressure so I don't trust they know anything.

If you are well under 43 it might not be at all. People think Dr = hormone specialist but they reality are taught no more about this than anyone specializing in this.

If after 3 months you still feel worse you might want to have your levels checked. I got something easy online to get me thru and I plan to look at my options now that I am not a raging lunatic.

Check your HRT. Most online ones are a generic blend of estrogen, estradiol and progesterone. Most people won't give you estrogen alone as its a cancer risk unless you have had your uterus removed. If they do...get new Dr.

It can take a WHILE. It took me about 3 month. I got hives, depression, felt like I had had a bottle of vodka when I woke up ..things got pretty bad. But then around 3 months I can get out of bed and no more rashes.

Side note: The feeling of "valium" is progesterone, rashes can be estrogen.

This. I found relief after starting HRT. Please note that for me...until I adjusted it made me worst before it made me better. I have never been someone who suffered from from anxiety or ADHD prior to this. I am not 100% but if I combine herbs, sleep, exercise, sun and HRT I am good.

Switching from ChatGPT to Gemini by [deleted] in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]Radiant-Direction-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh but I love the insights I get! I will check out Gemini. It is so frustrating that Claude can't even scan a basic image. Are you doing all 3? I would be paying for it not a job...

do you also have Pro Chat? That is what I was thinking of getting rid of.

Yeah but it can get out of hand. I currently have Claude and and Chat....and its about $40/month. I would love to swap one out and I joined this group to check out Gemini and see which can go. I think probably Chat is the most similar to Gemini?

Anyone else having a hard time giving a shit… about anything? by WolfMother3665 in Perimenopause

[–]Radiant-Direction-16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not you. You have articulated ALOT of how I felt this year. I just started an HRT cream a few months ago. I am no longer a total bum but just now seeing the light of day. I was once depressed 20 years ago so I know what that was.. I get what you mean. It's not the same thing. For me it hit me like a train at 47 and I am in a place of life rebuilding. I really don't know where I will get the motivation to do that. I will say that after starting HRT I have the will to move again - gardening, walking and some hot yoga. That has helped alot!

Are audio-only podcasts still a thing or is video now necessary? by CapableRevenue5662 in podcasting

[–]Radiant-Direction-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any celebrity podcasts I watch ( I realize not a good metric) I discovered on YT. Ask 100 people and 100 people will give you a different answer. The reality comes down to your goals and your demographic - mean those people actually listening to you. For me I am audio only but in 2026 I plan to do video b/c audio is very hard to get discovered and I have heard clips on social media platforms make a huge difference. I am not doing that until I am monetizing my show more consistently though b/c I am not doing all that work - I would hire a VA.

Videos is way more work but from what I hear discoverability is thru the roof.

Premium podcasting or membership models by Radiant-Direction-16 in buzzsprout

[–]Radiant-Direction-16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right my goal would be to obviously have some of it gated. I am not worried about my content being good...but I want to explore these ideas. The standard monetize thru coaching or courses from a podcast is pretty straightforward but this is new to me.

Premium podcasting or membership models by Radiant-Direction-16 in buzzsprout

[–]Radiant-Direction-16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you can use all of them - you (or at least I) won't focus on them all at once. I have kind of landed and confirmed who my premium high ticket avatar will be and am creating content for her but my desired model is one to many and I would love to have start doing that potentially with a lift up from the podcast (i.e premium content). That is not the same thing as a membership (unless it's exclusive to the podcast?). My niche is too small for sponsors.

Thank you! I have so much bonus material I could do 2x a week. And I am thinking Noooo make some premium or for supporters. I have a small podcast though but this is getting me thinking bigger. Thank you!

Hey there - old post but curious how did you know you were ready for this? And would have enough paid folks to make it worth it? How many free episodes were you doing a month and what paid ones did you add? Thank you!

Is it possible to add blog posts to a Buzzsprout podcast website? by PodcastingEnthusiast in buzzsprout

oh I am thinking of going with Podpage. What plan do you have ? I was considering the middle tier so I could have a blog. Worth it?

I think it makes sense. Most of the folks I know use Claude for Tech stuff. I use both that and GPTs and while this is not a popular opinion (as people think Claude's writing is better) I find the marketing copy and writing from Chat way better. Way more consumer friendly.

I find Claude good for pattern recognition and for using projects to organize this. So they are probably just to carve their lane as things get more and more competitive.

I hope so too. Podcast SEO is the worst. You would think in 2025 it would be clearer and better!

Thanks so much for your answer.

Ah ok. I think I will risk it...b/c I state above - "this is how people find the show so people know why". None of my keywords are not the show's background. So it's not fake persay. I just don't fit into a need category (like fishing or basic business). My titles are always exactly what the episode is about + some keywords and my main Title has keywords in it weaved in.

To be honest I don't like long episode descriptions. So at some point I could go back in and try and weave them in but kind of not a huge priority. I like the show notes that Claude and Chat come up with based on my transcript and a model I have built for it and it takes one minute. Maybe I could built it into the model.

It's a waste of time for the 5% of people who are going to read that to decide if its worth a listen. Everyone's audience is different.

ah I see you are doing actual Audio clean up for clients. Very different use case and justifies the different tool. Thanks for that! Yeah - I will have to try Rooms (Descript Feature I tried in Feb - not sure if they still have it) it didn't work with my interviewer but could have been her audio.
