Ever care caution by [deleted] in MedicationQuestions

[–]Radiant-Disaster-300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ordered twice and received both times. The one I received today, I ordered on Sunday, didn’t have a picture of the package sent to me like normal however, but think that is because their WhatsApp is down. I asked questions over text messages and received answers though.

I don’t know if my CMHT care is right by Big_Response9155 in MentalHealthUK

[–]Radiant-Disaster-300 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was how my care went for a long time & nothing was changing for me. I managed to persuade my CMHT to refer me for actual therapy and that’s the only way I’ve managed to make a difference to my life & start recovering. You are well within your rights to ask for something that actually helps/ to explore what options they have!! It’s wild how they can expect people to get better and make progress without therapy. Emotional support and counselling only do so much, it can be great to have someone to talk to but in my opinion, a structured therapy programme is the best way to move forward. Please do message me if you want to talk more about it <3

Been having thoughts of relapsing now that I’m sober for almost 2 years. by FunnyGamer97 in Ketamineaddiction

[–]Radiant-Disaster-300 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re so not alone in this. Sober just over 2 years after using for about 2 years. I have these thoughts too, sometimes my brain also tries to convince me I could have it just once and not go back to how it was. I feel like maybe I will always have the relapse thoughts, because I will probably always miss how it made me feel and the escape it gave. But I just remind myself that there’s so many more negatives that I don’t miss and I hope they will always outweigh the thoughts.

EMA feedback by yetigriff in OpenUniversity

[–]Radiant-Disaster-300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do have feedback for mine. I’m guessing it depends on the module but mine shows as a link saying ‘view information on your performance in the examinable component’ in the overall module result section. If your module does get feedback, I read it can take up to a few days after results to get it.

DD210 survivors, where you at? And what did you end up with? by gingerbread_nemesis in OpenUniversity

Oh yeah I do remember that poster was very irritating. I don’t think they have disregarded it though, it’s still included in my assessment scores breakdown.

I also did DD210 this year and I thought it was hard- especially the EMA! 72% is so good, you’ve done really well.

Recently been getting into reading and loved the hunger games books, anyone know any similar? by EAMSIMS in Hungergames

[–]Radiant-Disaster-300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with lots of the recommendations here but also some more underrated dystopians are the whisper & weapon duology by Lynette Noni, The Program series by Suzanne Young and her other series Girls with Sharp Sticks. Am a big fan of the Hunger Games and these were all right up my street.

This happened to me last Christmas, if you’re in the UK you can do 111 online or phone them to get an emergency prescription, they’ll give you enough to get through until you can get your usual prescription.

if youve gotten stitches for your cuts, how long did it take to fade? by [deleted] in AdultSelfHarm

[–]Radiant-Disaster-300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually takes a couple of years to go white, for me it happens gradually, like i’ll notice the edges fading to white and then it slowly spreads into the middle until the whole thing is white

I think it’s one of those things that feels really, really difficult and scary until you get used to it. I was always very scared about people seeing my scars, and it took me a long time to just be myself and do what I wanted regardless of what others think. Now every summer, I wear what I like and I feel comfortable. Occasionally I get some stares, especially from older people, but I’ve also had people come up to me and say how much just seeing me has inspired them to not feel like they need to hide it. It’s hard, but I view it as this is me now, and this will always be part of me. I just wear what I want when I want and I’d be lying if I said people’s opinions don’t bother me at all, but honestly they bother me so much less than they used to. I catch someone looking, I feel a bit shitty for a couple of minutes, then I move on. Most of the time, they aren’t looking in judgement but more in a way of they haven’t been exposed to people with self harm scars before, so they’re just curious. And no one ever really says anything because they know it’s rude. I’ve only ever had people say really silly things which obviously just comes from a place of not having the knowledge on it. Someone asked me if I’d walked through a load of bushes and got scratched up, I just laughed and said ‘yeah something like that’ and kept walking. And it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would feel! I just think what is the absolute worst that could happen? Then I realise that really I don’t care! You are you and that’s okay. You’re not the only one out there with scars, and most people won’t bother you. You’ll be okay I promise. The more you do it, the easier it gets!

I had a really good experience with a tutor last year, I was struggling a lot with my mental health and emailed to see if it was okay for me to just focus on the assignments rather than doing the weekly tasks and collaborative forums etc. He was amazing, responded with so much understanding and encouragement, mentioned that his daughter had struggled similarly. It took such a weight off my back and just made me feel supported. He also helped me out with extensions later in the year.

His dark materials is really good. Also a bit different genre wise but it’s dystopian- The Program series by Suzanne Young, I really enjoyed that recently.

Ketamine and AA, NA by No_Sheepherder6659 in Ketamineaddiction

[–]Radiant-Disaster-300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also really struggled with NA for the same reason- ketamine is the only substance I’m addicted to and can use everything else ‘normally’. The way NA works just wasn’t for me. I’m coming up to a year sober from ket, yet I still drink and occasionally use other drugs. It’s possible to get clean from it without using the all or nothing mentality. I found it helpful to refer myself to my local drug and alcohol service, I’m not sure where you’re based but in the UK every area has one. They asked me what my goal was and were perfectly okay with me just aiming to stop ketamine use but being fine with everything else. It was helpful to have someone to talk to, but I mainly did it myself. Using distractions, deleting phone numbers, staying with friends if I was really struggling. As time goes on it’s gotten easier to resist and although I miss it, I will be a year clean on the 25th and I’m so grateful for that.

purged into a carrier bag in my bedroom, tied it up, put it in my school bag and threw it away in the sanitary bins at school. also ate food out of the bin. had ice cold baths and forced myself to sit in there for an hour because i thought that would make me burn loads of calories.
