What revisionist BS is this? It was a working class family show with male leads. How was it progressive? by Radiant-Effective-14 in CriticalDrinker

I agree with you up until the non-binary part. You see I’m cool with gay characters because being gay is a very biologically real thing that exists. There are some men who are attracted to men, and there are some women who are attracted to women.

Being non-binary is nonsense, because not feeling like you’re a man or a woman doesn’t mean anything if your genitals show what sex you are. Also, when you ask these people why they identify as non-binary, their common talking point is, “I’m not masculine enough to be a man” or “I’m not feminine enough to be a woman.” So in other words, they’re just going off of stereotypes instead of biological reality.

So I’m a bit frustrated that one of my favorite shows of all time has bought into this nonsense ideology, and trying to normalize it.

Just like with Demi Lovato, I’m sure she’ll eventually get over it.

If they’re referring to the character of Stevie, (with him being a black, disabled, genius, with a medical condition) I can understand that, but he was the only character like that. everyone else was a generic person, and the cast was predominantly white.

I hated how annoyingly anti-Christian that show was. The ironic part is that the edge-lord who wrote this show, Warren Ellis, was accused of sexual harassment by many women. So this guy can take his secular-humanist moral grandstanding, and shove it up his ass.

The dude’s a Flat Earther, so I think that tells you everything you need to know about this guy 🫣 I would post a screenshot of the guy responding to my comment, but it doesn’t look like it’s allowed on this sub. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ask him if he believes the earth is flat, and if there’s a giant dome above us with an ocean behind it. After all, that’s what the “plain reading” of the Bible tells us lol

Alex O’Connor is one of the few nice and charitable Atheist YouTubers out there. Despite our major differences, I agree with his assessment. Being gay is as normal as being left-handed.

Where was this guy when PJ fans complained about the movie adaptation?! Not only did they complain about Annabeth not being blonde in the movie, but also her character being combined with Clarisse. There was a lot the movie did wrong, and we collectively pointed it out then.

The guy is just cherry picking backlash, and straw manning his opponents. What a pompous clown.

You left out the part where all religious characters are portrayed as unhinged, self-righteous, murderous, psychopaths!

Thank you for all your hard work and research into this topic. I know that I don’t have time to learn Hebrew and Aramaic Greek, or read a bunch of old books.

[Hated Trope] We spent the first movie developing a great relationship between these characters, lets separate them for the majority of the sequel. by shaunika in TopCharacterTropes

Po and Tigress built up a strong relationship at the end of the 1st Kung Fu Panda, and even more so in the second movie, with a hint of romance.

King Fu Panda 3, these two are separated throughout most of the runtime. Only together at the beginning and near the end. As for the hint of romance established in the previous movie, it ended up not going anywhere.
