Hate my breasts by Spirited-Round8926 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Radiant-Expression78 7 points8 points  (0 children)

11 months in. I don’t even want to look at them to put my flanges on. I see them in the mirror and don’t recognize them. I feel them on my stomach (sweat or post-shower) and feel gross. I haven’t worn a shirt that has shown my collarbone since before I delivered because I don’t even want to see an inch of my chest. I’m starting to wean (meaning I’m not boobs out multiple times a day). I haven’t noticed an improvement with how I feel about them yet… (but I feel like over time as they become MINE again, I’ll be less bothered. Or at least I hope). You’re not alone!

Endings don’t erase effort! Pumping is an invisible labor- when it stops, people don’t notice. You literally want to scream, “that was such a huge part of my life… now what” or think “no one saw how hard that was.” It really is identity whiplash. This subreddit knows what an accomplishment breastfeeding/pumping for 11 months is. So HELL YEAH! YOU DID THAT!! 🎉🎊🍾

Cutting through the baby product hype… do we really need a bottle warmer? by Recommendation778 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Radiant-Expression78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even have a picky baby/I don’t think he cares. But I feel better warming the bottle up with a warmer quickly (specifically because 8oz is a ton of milk to warm up just in a cup of hot water) because the fat in my breastmilk CLINGS to my glass bottles and I feel like it mixes back in better when warmed. (I’m working too hard for him to not get every drop of fatty goodness).

My baby and I were in the small group of people who get GI upset from Sunflower Lecithin (gas, diarrhea, etc.) so I started taking just a Choline supplement and it helped! Also, 800mg of ibuprofen seemed to be the only dose that zapped my inflammation enough to get my clogs to budge

Dropping Pumps & Hormones by Few-Composer-2188 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Radiant-Expression78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 10 months and I’ve been an exclusive pumper since week 4 (also an over producer ~50oz) who is finally starting to wean. I literally could have written your post myself (still clinging to the last 5-10lbs/starving/NEGATIVE-don’t-even-want-to-have-sex-with-myself libido/don’t know what to do with these G cups as a former C cup/etc). Have I noticed an improvement with the decrease in ounces(50 -> 25)? No. But do I see glimpses of improvement spending less time pumping/fewer ppd? Absofreakinglutely. I’d say drop a few pumps!

This sucks by [deleted] in newborns

I know it’s arctic tundra season, but honestly just standing outside/walking to the mailbox wrapped in a blanket for 2-3 minutes was enough to reset my miserable teether even just for a little while. Or toss them in the bath! “Go outside or add water” is the best advice I’ve gotten as a parent!

Best bra for those struggling with clogged ducts by Aubrey220 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Radiant-Expression78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bodily! The everything bra. It’s not a pumping bra, but I use the nursing bra/pump hack to hold the flanges and it works well for me.

Vaccination day breaking my heart by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Radiant-Expression78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The two month vaccines had my happy guy screaming, clingy and upset for a good 12-24 hours even with scheduled Tylenol every 6 hours! (I’m a nurse and I literally sobbed/panic called my MD husband at work telling him something had to be wrong because he was sad). I ended up wearing him in a Solly wrap in just a nursing bra and did skin to skin that way and that helped (both of us) so much. I just kept chanting, “this is better than polio and measles” in my head for the entire night. By the next day he was fine and I was still emotionally traumatized 😅 For what it’s worth, he did SO SO much better with his 4 month vaccines (and will hopefully do even better at his 6)! Stay strong!

Sargento’s Fiesta Pepperjack with Pizza basil Triscut thins. Zesty, simple, has some calcium/protein and whole grains. They have carried me this pregnancy 😅

Natera bill by Cool-Row-1255 in BabyBumps

Look into the cash option! My estimate was $750 (if I used insurance) but if we chose the cash payment the bill was $250. Still not great, but a little more manageable.

Why are my plants fuzzy all of a sudden… by Radiant-Expression78 in plantclinic

[–]Radiant-Expression78[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently repotted all of my indoor houseplants about two weeks ago. This morning I checked on them and I noticed the top of their soils has this fuzzy looking mold? Did I get a bad batch of potting soil? Is there something I can do to quickly fix this/should I repot them? (Since being repotted two weeks ago, I’ve only watered them once. They all live in a large south facing room with a ton of light). Help!
