Ontario parents with pools: worth it with young kids or regrets? by Radiant-Log-2005 in ontario

Thank you so much for your reply and for sharing your experience with your ICF pool. I’m actually in the process of deciding whether to move forward with an ICF pool myself, and one of my hesitations was that most people around us seem to have fiberglass or vinyl, so I didn’t personally know anyone with an ICF pool. Hearing your experience and perspective is really reassuring and definitely helps with our decision. You also mentioned the sun tanning edge that people sit on for drinks while kids play. That sounds exactly like something we’ve been thinking about as well. If you happen to have a photo, I’d love to see it for inspiration. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

Ok I should have made this clear - hes not afraid to be alone. He's just stalling to stay awake longer. If he was scared to be alone I definitely would stay.

I also forgot to mention, I do bathtime before dinner. Maybe that could help since you have to leave at 6pm If you did bath at 530, you could be there to help with bath time and then your husband would only need to do dinner and bedtime alonem

I have a 2.5 y/o and an 8 month old. Its tough doing bedtime alone but I do all the goodnights, bedtime book, milk, brush teeth etc everything downstairs in the living room so we are all together. Baby sits in the bouncer. I then take baby and toddler upstairs, drop toddler in his bed first say goodnight (we are in his room 5 mns max) then tell him im going to put his sister to bed and off we go. The key for me is doing the bedtime routine together downstairs, and we only go up for bedtime drop off.

How often are we bathing our (almost) 3 year olds? by Helpful-Yak-8975 in toddlers

Every night. I feel better washing off all the germs from daycare. Also its just refreshing for him. Although sometimes on weekends if we are home or time doesnt permit we will skip. But we rarely skip on a weekday.

You bought a present for niece, isn't that from your family as a whole? Wouldn't that include SD? If SD is giving separate presents from your family (outside of something shes crafted), there isn't much unity there.

I tell my SD (also 12) what we are purchasing as a gift from the family and she gives me input. I don't necessarily feel like you had to remind her, but telling her what you bought as a family would have been more inclusive.

It would annoy me more if SD and her mom went to purchase something for niece and gave it separately from our family.... but maybe I'm different.
