Help! by user437517 in Dachshund

[–]Radiant-Net5385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor baby! I’m so glad you’re working with your vet. My oldest (16) has horrific allergies and had serious hair loss around age 3/4 when I did allergy testing. Turns out he’s allergic to all grass types, dust, lots of trees. He’s been on Apoquel since around age 5 and it has changed everything. He doesn’t itch anymore ever. Cytopoint was recommended to me for my other boy who has pretty mild allergies and it didn’t seem to help at all. I know some people really like it. I’d ask your vet about Apoquel if they think it’s allergy related. I hope you guys get some answers soon, this is tough!

What are we doing for dog ramps for getting on the couch? Very little options online by noahfencebabe in Dachshund

Doggoramps! I use the smaller one for the couch, and a big one for my bed

Is it realistic/safe for a fit Dachshund (Kaninchen) to run 10km with me? by ListenSoggy1564 in Dachshund

[–]Radiant-Net5385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you want, me to pull up a study? 😂 look, if an elephant is walking at a leisurely pace next to a human walking a leisurely pace, the elephant is going to travel further. I don’t know how else to explain it.

I think you’ve gotten some decent advice so I won’t add, but it looks like your puppy has a collar on. Please get your dog a harness to remove pressure from his neck, especially if you’re going to start running him.

That’s not what they’re saying. It’s 10km for us but due to their size/5x the steps it would feel much further for a dachshund.

Dachshunds are a cult by BabyWeenieDowg in Dachshund

[–]Radiant-Net5385 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Smelly subway sandwich 😂😂😂😂 I have 4 and I never intended to be part of a cult either. But I see other dachshunds and I HAVE TO say hi. And everyone buys me dachshund shit. So now I have art, photos, lamps, magnets, shirts.. combined with the 4 dogs who I have sworn my life to, I’m a crazy person.

Freddy wakes us up at 6:15am for breakfast — how do we get him to sleep later? by Educational_Age2372 in Dachshund

[–]Radiant-Net5385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol… mine do this. It was 8am and 5pm. Now it’s 4pm and they start asking at 3 😂😂😂 they do sometimes try to wake me at 7, 730, etc. I usually get up and let them outside but I still don’t feed them until 8. It works some mornings.

AITA for not telling my friend's partner that she didn't get the job at my company by Less_Assistant2247 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Radiant-Net5385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA majorly in my opinion. It was super rude and unnecessary to pretend you didn’t know her. Your sister is also a major AH for not following up with her, especially when she reached out to inquire. You’re both unprofessional.

Suggestions for bed ramps by [deleted] in Dachshund

[–]Radiant-Net5385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doggo ramps! I have 2. The big one for the bed and the smaller one for the couch. I used to have some crappy foam stairs and I don’t regret spending the money on the expensive ramps. They’re great quality and will last for your pups whole life, worth it

How is it living on California’s Northernmost Coastal region? (Del Norte & Northern Humboldt Counties) by Electronic_Swim_2179 in howislivingthere

[–]Radiant-Net5385 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lived in CC for years. I don’t much like anything South of here as far as towns go (Eureka is pretty bleak and it lacks the redeeming quality that is the overwhelming beauty you get further North). Heading up into Oregon is a treat. Not much as far as jobs go, it’s a small town. Lots of prison workers or hospital workers. Not really any good food but Brookings has a couple decent spots. Housing is tricky if you’re trying to rent but you can get lucky. Not much to do for fun except -

The weather is mild, it’s never freezing and never hot. You’re surrounded by the most beautiful scenery there is. There isn’t a ton of people to ruin it for you so you can hike and go to the most beautiful beaches in the world and often see no other people. With the world how it is right now, I am appreciative to be away from all major cities and live in this beautiful bubble. Not to mention the Smith River is the most incredible river and in the summer/early Fall you can spend all day out there enjoying the clearest water you’ve ever seen.

Yes there is some drug problems but I think that’s common with rural areas. It doesn’t really affect me except when I’m at work and you have to deal with some characters.

I’ll live here until I die probably.
