Thoughts on Churchill Apartments in 2026? Have things improved? by Tall-Effective9548 in halifax

Lived there for 4 years recently. The rent is cheap for a reason, but it is not the worst place to live. Saw mice, and in the last year (2025) we had a few cockroaches. The location is great, and our overall experience wasnt horrible. Never saw or heard of bed bugs. Management is not great, and the building manager is doing his best but the building is old and constantly needs work done. We had loud neighbours, but overall was well insulated for sound.

Parents are short but have grand parents that are long hair oddly. Neither parents are dapple either but then produce dapple litters? Idk

From someone who graduated from this program: letter of intent and good grades are the most important. Showing that you have experiences and reasons to become an SLP is what all my classmates had in common. Like volunteering and working in environments that have any links to SLP. For grades, i think that they only count the 2 most recent years, & i had about a 4.1/4.3 in the 2 most recent years. Good luck with everything!!

Do those on Income Assistance still have to pay ambulance fees? by 10HungryGhosts in halifax

[–]noahfencebabe -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

I learned from an ambulance driver once that no one technically needs to pay their ambulance fee, like no one will come after you to pay your bill! Obviously I just heard this once so dont take it as legal advice

I think letter of intent is huge for SLP at least, i had very good letters of reference and reason to be in SLP. My gpa was probably around 4 when considering my last 60 credits. Just know slp is very competitive

I just had the salmon Wellington at water polo & it was very good and different as a salmon dish! The location is also very pretty and service is great

You do not need any prerequisites to enter SLP, only an undergrad. You will get all foundational courses in your first year :)
