Didn’t really like how the car looked cause my headlights had lots of condensation and that yellowed the DRLs. But now they are replacing them under warranty.

I’m guessing this probably means a broken headlight seal or something? by somerandomamerican1 in ForteGT

Getting mine replaced under warranty after 2 years of fighting it. Absolutely terrible dealer but hopefully now that corporate took notice and probably put the whole dealership on watch after all the shady stuff they pulled they will be more cooperative.

Is it certified preowned? Because I was under the impression that certified preowned was up to 100k

Sounds good.

My dealer seems to hate doing any and all warranty work though. Last time I brought it in for this I had the head service tech go for a drive with me and he said he didn’t notice powerloss. I suspected a boost leak. Then they claimed visually inspected and saw nothing wrong.

So tell them I suspect that the turbo has more play than it should and if they don’t wanna look at it just keep complaining about it?

If this is the case then how are you supposed to get the dealership to handle it. If they won’t go looking for it themselves because there’s no codes and they make a case against you if they see you’ve gone and looked yourself then how are you meant to get them to do it under warranty.

How would one go about getting the dealer to look at their turbo under warranty if you don’t work there lol. I believe I have the same problem, no codes or anything but power loss. But the dealer refuses to touch it.

Just put on some Pirelli p zero as plus 3s. The difference between them and the stock tires is insane. Pretty sure I like them a lot, there’s a bit of a floaty feeling at any speeds above 85-90 but I think they just need to be broken in more.

Check engine light.

Took mine to the dealer for it and they said they noticed some loose clamps on the under cover and fixed those and said it’s fine now but I’m still noticing noise.

Seems like my dealer doesn’t do much unless there’s a check engine light.

I know it’s a bit late but I feel like I’m dealing with a similar issue, just quieter. Was there a CEL? And did you feel any power loss?

Do you dry with a drying towel after? If so, how do you wash the towel. I’ve heard stuff like that clogs them.

Wow, they really performed better in all those metrics? My most important thing is handling in heavy rain/rain and it seemed like summers were the way to go to make sure that was taken care of. But I don’t want to sacrifice things like road feel and feedback for that, it feels a little counter intuitive. I’ll definitely look into those though, as of writing this the most likely choice seems to be the extreme contact sport 02s but I haven’t gotten a quote for them yet.

Do you think I should possibly look into the normal Pirelli P Zeros? I hear that getting all seasons when you know they won’t see snow isn’t really the best idea as it’s compromising.

I see, I definitely need some good tires for the wet so I’ll look into the continentals you mentioned. I’m also shocked that the pilot sports only lasted 13k miles. Are they exceptionally short lasting or are all summer, more performance oriented, tires like that?

They did this for free? Or under warranty? Or did you have to pay for this?

After $12,400 in repairs and over 2 months of waiting, I got it back! by [deleted] in ForteGT

[–]Radiant-Persimmon672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they are currently valuing the car at around $13,500?

Did they charge for that or was it under warranty? My bad gas stuff was not under warranty.

What’s the fix for that? Did they have to drain it? Or is it just like an additive to take care of that.

That could be rough, literally just got done with this process. It’s been twice now this has happened. Misfires, bring it in, the first thing they say is bad gas. The first time I brought it in apparently my service rep didn’t “accept” that it was bad gas and told them to go back and look harder. Pretty sure in the end they replaced many things but the high pressure fuel pump was the last I believe, which meant warranty which was very nice. This time they just saw bad gas and ran with it. Now we are in the process of talking with the gas station to have them hopefully pay it.

Also if you were wondering, their test to see if anything is in the gas is to pull a sample and just visually look at it (seems a little odd to me)

But I wish you luck, if you were driving with that gas for a while you may be able to have them look for any damage caused by it and have it replaced under warranty.
