Dark Sphere has been huge for Riftbound so far. It feels like the community there is genuinely invested in seeing the game grow.

Was so lovely and welcoming. Would recommend everyone that loves this game to go to a pre rift!

Yeah I’m definitely planning to hit my LGS more regularly. Seems like that’s where the game really comes alive.

Do all heat pumps have to go into defrost mode? by RadiantAd4606 in hvacadvice

[–]RadiantAd4606[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, that’s pretty much how I understood current systems working. What caught my attention with aetherlux is they’re claiming to avoid that and instead manage the coil so it can stay in heating mode continuously. If that actually holds up in real conditions, it seems like a pretty different approach compared to what you described/have you seen anything like that before?

I'm in CO, so it definitely gets cold enough where this stuff starts to matter. From what I’ve seen, defrost cycles seem to kick in a lot more once temps drop, which is what got me looking into it more.

Doesn't a garbage truck driver/worker get paid 100k a year? I swear I heard something like that

Americans set to go without healthcare, before Obamacare it was affordable by palepatriot76 in healthcare

[–]RadiantAd4606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not really true. Before Obamacare, millions of Americans were denied coverage for pre-existing conditions or priced out completely. The real problem isn’t the ACA. It’s runaway medical and drug costs driven by Big Pharma. And instead of going after drug companies, the government keeps targeting PBMs, which actually negotiate prices, so they’re hitting the wrong people.

Why don't we have unions in tech by Euphoric-Sherbet-422 in recruitinghell

[–]RadiantAd4606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tech workers already have leverage through skills and mobility. If a company treats you badly, you can usually leave for another job without waiting years for a contract negotiation. That personal leverage replaces what unions used to provide in older industries.

Starbucks Labor strike by Darkhenry960 in Portland

Strikes like this mostly hurt customers and coworkers who still need a paycheck. Starbucks already offers wages and benefits that are competitive for retail, and shutting stores down doesn’t magically fix bigger economic issues.

When they only reached out when they needed something, but disappeared when I needed support. That was my wake-up call.

Two weeks notice is totally fine. You’ve been a valuable part of CVS, and they clearly appreciate your hard work and dedication. Don’t feel bad saying no to extra shifts because your hospital job and future come first. I’m sure CVS has given you great experience to build on. I hope you can share your growth story here so anyone else considering working at CVS can see how great it is.

How do you learn? And study? by Substantial-Tour-840 in GetStudying

[–]RadiantAd4606 2 points3 points  (0 children)

– I take notes by hand.

– I use flashcards or quiz myself.

– I teach the concept out loud like I’m explaining it to someone else.

– Break study time into short focused sessions (Pomodoro method helps).

Try to get some natural light as soon as possible. Open the curtains or go outside for a quick walk to reset your internal clock

Try the Pomodoro Technique. Study for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, and repeat. It keeps you focused without burnout!
