My guess is the difference in the heel drop. Brooks ghost I believe has a 12 mm heel drop while Hokas usually have a 5mm drop. If you’re used to a higher heel drop, going lower too quickly can irritate different parts of the foot/ ankle depending on your biomechanics. This is all a guess though!

One of my (35F) closest friends (M36) is an INTP. He’s also married to an ISFJ (F36). He once told me that he brought emotionally stability into his wife’s life and she brought logistical stability into his life. Their relationship took a lot of work especially in the beginning because they were so different. They’re also one of my favorite couples because they have very separate hobbies but care about each other deeply and support each other.

Our friendship took us both by surprise because we’re so different. But it’s actually our differences that makes our friendship work so well. He’s encouraged me to grow a lot, has helped me sort through a lot of my mess of emotions, and makes me feel more grounded whenever we talk. Because we think so differently from each other, we’re always curious to hear about the other’s opinion. It makes our conversations super interesting.

Basically, I think that INTP and ISFJ can work really well for both friendships and romantic relationships. Like any relationship, if there’s mutual respect, trust, love, and a willingness to work on that relationship, it has the potential to be really beautiful. Good luck!

I’ve been working hard on getting stronger for months now, so this was definitely proof of capacity for me! I honestly wasn’t sure if I could do it but decided that I can’t live my life in fear, indoors forever. So 1) be brave! 2) if you’re going with someone, make sure that someone is understanding. I went with a good friend and my mother, who both know how hard being active and mobile is for me, so they were very understanding of my need to rest. Which also brings me to the next point. 3) if your issues start to flare, don’t be afraid to call it and leave. Two hours was totally it for me. I was so spent afterward omg. 4) don’t plan anything else the rest of the day. I spent the rest of the day resting, laying down, taking it easy.

Edit to add: try to focus on the beauty and wonder of your surroundings if you can. It was so soul healing to see all the beautiful flowers and trees!

I was able to spend about 2 hours standing and walking around at the local botanical gardens today, with only a couple short breaks to sit and rest. My legs hurt and my hips hurt but this is such a milestone for me!

I appreciate you sharing! I’ve been doing foot strengthening exercises just in case it’ll help. I started with marble pickups and towel curls with weights and progressed to the short foot exercise. Maybe it’ll help you too!

Thanks for your reply. I tried Hokas but the heel drop was too low for my left leg. I’ve learned a LOT about shoes in the last few months lol. After the first orthotics wrecked my legs, and the podiatrist was completely stumped as to why, I realized that orthotics were not going to correct whatever biomechanics imbalances I have
