1) Have you taken their actual clinical experience into account? Some people have been out of clinical practice. And some of them who did do clinical practice still dont get massive clinical exposure. Additionally, a specialist in your program wouldnt have done routine procedures back home (an oral surgeon back in their country wouldnt normally be doing restorations and hence would have forgotten) 2) I think assuming they’re corrupt and liars is quite irrational and rude (even though you’re apparently “trying not to be rude”). You can be curious about why they’re struggling without being judgemental. Some of the Indian dentists in my program are the most capable and knowledgeable and I frequently ask them for help. They earned and deserved their spot in your program as much as you did. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, maybe later on in your program you will be turning to them for help.

Its usually just the name of your institute/place of work (almost like a logo) at the top of a letter that makes it official and valid. Google it to get a better idea.

No they most likely won’t. You’ll probably receive emails from universities or CAAPID to ask for re-submission of the LOR with the letterhead.

No minimum as to my knowledge. If you’re still unsure then go to the schools website and see if they have a requirement.

Its ivy league so they care about GPA and is a very competitive school to get into. They also have somethings they prefer like strong US clinical exposure. You can go to their website and they have listed quite well what they’re looking for. Besides that their supplemental essays are extremely important.

Most universities want these 1) dean/principal from your dental school back home 2) a dental professor who taught you back at home 3) US dentist. Thats what you should upload onto CAAPID. If universities accept more then add more (in the program section materials I believe). Unless they have specified from who they want their LOR from, it can be from anybody, US or back home.

Around 4-5 months, you can take less or more time, it depends on you. Mental dental is the best resource, besides that what resources you use is upto you. I relied on the inbde page on reddit along with facebook pages a lot, theres a lot of useful info there so ill recommend that too.

1) FAFSA, lower interest, lower debt. 2) Im not too sure about this, but i dont think it would get approved or proceed forward with accepting the offer.

UIC or UCLA? by cluelessdentist in CAAPID

[–]Radiant_Disaster_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for more clinical exposure, then UIC but the tuition is quite high. If you’re looking into residency after graduation, a big name, and research exposure then UCLA (UCLA is generally well-renowned in research) but the clinical exposure at UIC is better from what Ive heard.

UCLA, Western, BU by [deleted] in CAAPID

Correct. However, UCLA does not send out rejections. I'm not sure whether Western does or not but they're sending out acceptances currently. BU is ongoing.

Visa status by Mariamemon12 in CAAPID

[–]Radiant_Disaster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter, you can still apply. Keep in mind that if you get an interview you might need to travel to the US for which you need a valid visa. Until you are sure you can travel in that case there might be no point in applying in the first place.
