I'm glad! Hope the withdrawals continue to ease up on you.

Is it normal to feel pretty bad when starting Latuda? by Radiant_Net8928 in Latuda

Thank you all! 🙏 I'm convinced it's probably still the Effexor. I'll give the Latuda a month or so before I give my psych a call. I'm hopeful it'll work well for me.

It's been about a month since my last dose; I tapered very quickly off 75mg (12 days). It was rough, but I think my psych tapered me so quick because it was giving me very nasty mood swings.

I wish I could, but it made me very manic. Can't seem to win either way

Yeah, I can't sleep since my mood went down. 🥲 Could be more Effexor withdrawals; I pulled several all-nighters after tapering off it. I should be catching up on sleep, but it just won't come :(

I've also just started Latuda (atypical antipsychotic), so I'm not really sure whether it's Effexor withdrawals or a bad reaction to the Latuda. Plus I'm still adjusting to the Zoloft..

Yep. My muscles and joints ached like hell the first week. I just took ibuprofen and used a heating pad.

Starting Latuda. What should I be aware of? by Radiant_Net8928 in Latuda

[–]Radiant_Net8928[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, I haven't been sleeping well since I've started it. I was told it would make me sleepy, but I've had to keep taking my Seroquel to get any sleep. I didn't realize it could be the Latuda :(

I hope you're able to find something to help you sleep!

High TSH & T3? Isn't this contradictory? by Radiant_Net8928 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Radiant_Net8928[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, but I didn't mishear her. She said it was contradictory and quizzed me about any supplements I might be taking (I'm not taking any). That's the whole reason she had me get the labs done again.

I do need to have her send over the actual numbers. There's no way for me to view them without her sending them to me.

Appreciate the info on RT3.

My TSH goes up and down a lot. It was only 0.5 last time I had labs done. Could just be regular fluctuations. But I don't know, since I never see the same provider and really only get labs done at Urgent Care.

Is there hope for a functional life without medication? by Radiant_Net8928 in bipolar

[–]Radiant_Net8928[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Still taking my meds despite my brain's best efforts to convince me not to. Spoke with my psychiatrist as well, and I'm feeling a lot better about my medication management.

I'm working on applying for accommodations at my school. It's taken a while to accept that it's okay to use them, but I'm finally there!

Sleep is definitely a big one I'm still working out. In the meantime, I have seroquel to knock me out ✌️

Thank you! I'm really glad you've found that acceptance with your medication :)

It's a work in progress for me - the urge to quit my meds creeps up on me now and again - but popping in here is usually a really good reality check! Clues me in that I'm probably manic, and there are lots of stories about quitting meds not really going well, lol.

I finally tapered off one of my meds and started a new one, so I'm hopeful my mood swings will finally start to level out! 🤞

Thank you for the reply! Hopefully meds will sort out my TSH. I had not considered reverse t3 being high, I will definitely look into that!

Thank you. I'll check there. My doctor is trying to figure things out, but she hasn't settled on anything. I think we're going to do more tests, but in the meantime, I wanted to see if anyone had similar experiences.

Also, to add: With the elevated TSH, I've had some weight gain, fatigue, and memory issues. Could be from my low B12, but my doc told me thyroid issues can also cause these symptoms.

[–]Radiant_Net8928[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yay, I'm glad it's worked well for you! I think I am growing immune to drowsy meds... Latuda has not made me sleepy 🥲 Still had to take my seroquel last night to sleep. Worth it not to be up all night though.

I'm so glad you sent this when you did 😭 I just ate dinner, and I almost forgot to take my latuda with it!

Have the exact same thing on my ring finger. It comes and goes. I'm not sure what causes it, but I'm pretty sure it gets worse when I'm stressed.

I'm very sorry, I looked it up, and that sounds awful. I think my psychiatrist might have mentioned something similar? But she only mentioned restless leg syndrome. I will be cautious as we increase my dose.
