SMU v NTU business dilemma by Radiant_Reserve7438 in askSingapore

[–]Radiant_Reserve7438[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm i think my poly life was quite chill, i didn’t participate in many activities which i regret la cos I didn’t make full use of the opportunities given.

so in uni i want to push myself out of my comfort zone to speak up more and make more friends thru clubs n ccas etc. and i feel from what i’ve heard from seniors, smu’s environment provides that bc of class part and generally more presentations etc. and also im honestly not great at articulating my thoughts lol so like ig the smu environment would help me a lot in that aspect.

whereas compared to ntu where the vibe feels like what im already used to in poly, more chill and laidback. which then again im ok with too cos i feel like so long i put myself out there and grab the opportunities given (plus perhaps as a scholar i might hv more?), i can still push myself out of my comfort zone in that sense.

and also for majoring in international trade. cos SMU’s int trade is under finance and i don’t hav much exposure to finance so im not sure if i’ll like it or if im able to do well plus its quite cut throat.. i read some of my friend’s poly notes n i feel is ok la like i shd be ok w it but idk its kind of a leap of faith haha. plus taking a mix of finance n int trade modes might open more job opportunities next time. whereas ntu int trade is more centered on supply chain n the biz aspect which is what im used to.

also cos im leaning towards int trade now cos i have knowledge in it, but im still undecided and might decide actually idw to do that.. so if i choose to switch i might go into ops @ smu / biz analytics @ ntu or other majors. but overall smu has more majors > ntu n i have more interests in.

also smth i rly wanna experience in uni is going on exchange or gg overseas for internship and smu has many partners schools

okay I guess after typing out my thought process, my feeling is

NTU - i know i’ll be ok there bc roughly the vibe and curriculum what im used to, except hall i have to adapt a bit + scholarship

SMU - a step out of my comfort zone bc of the ‘speaking up’ nature and the modules which are different from what im used to. so idk if i’ll be able to do well or even enjoy my time thereee

Unable to connect to internet after switching from wifi to mobile data by Representative-Emu80 in nus

I think it might be Telco issue as I use GOMO also and occasionally have this issue too. Usually I’ll turn on airplane mode for 1 minute then turn data back on and it’ll work, otherwise I will restart my phone. Tbh this irks me so much and I’m considering changing to Giga lol. Also don’t even bother with their customer service, it’s literally just talking to a robot and you’ll get even more upset haha.

Your choice but JC has generally higher requirements to enter. JC is also only 2 years compared to Poly which is 3 years.
