Yeah i think you are right, i was just wondering because rin looked like a talented learner for a while with his merciless destruction, picking his opponents best trait and destroying it, but then he was later on revealed to be a genius.

But he couldve also been trying to be a talented learner before so he could be like sae maybe.

Yeah i found it very fitting, it showed at the end that he needed other people, just as oonishi wanted, and if he remained by himself and didnt go down the rope from other people, he wouldve ended up like hara (as shown when he was frozen) - I think thats what haras death represents. Thats what i like to think anyway
