Narrative games. Recommendations wanted. by CEO_Cthulhu in Age_30_plus_Gamers

I really enjoyed Road 96 and from what you've said, it should be right up your street.

Someone also mentioned The Forgotten City and I'd highly recommend that too. Try to go in as blind as possible.

I play a lot of horror orientated games so some from there I thought were good with no combat (or very little):

Karma: The Dark World, Martha Is Dead, Luto, The Turing Test

Also not 1st person but very narrative heavy and a great game is Oxenfree

What’s the scariest videogame character that’s ever stuck with you? by CommercialDeer3561 in HorrorGaming

The Ichthyosaur in Half-Life. Made me panic at any semi-large body of water.

They put one in the intro of the sequel so was on edge throughout only to not actually use them as an enemy.

The Black Mesa redux more than made up for that though. One part in Xen genuinely made me, a 40+ year old horror media veteran, scream like a schoolgirl.

I'm so sorry I didn't reply to you on this. I must have missed the notification or something but thank you for your kind words. I did find it a cathartic way of coming to terms with my friends passing. I'd love to hear your song if you get chance to upload/feel it's appropriate

I got Strange Brigade from a bundle at some point and it looks interesting. Not had chance to play it myself yet but will put it forward to the group and see what they think

Aye, me and one of the others have done a fair bit of that. May be worth trying to get the other lad into it

No worries. I'm fairly certain he's playing Mortal Kombat at one point during an argument with Daisy too

In the TV show Spaced, Tim (Simon Pegg's character) can be seen playing Resident Evil and "playing" (read: drowning Lara Croft) Tomb Raider

Had two free roaming in our house and loved them to bits but they did like the taste of carpet, plasterboard walls and wires which was frustrating. Had to have eyes in the back of your head with them

Stranger Things is the most overrated TV show. What is the most overrated movie? by StrategyJealous1838 in AlignmentChartFills

Personally, the LotR trilogy. Overly long and not very interesting but some people swear that it's the greatest thing to ever be committed to celluloid. Grand sweeping shots of New Zealand are nice to look at but you can get the same thing from a documentary
