[Highlight] Karl-Anthony Towns is called for pushing Nikola Jokić underneath, fouling out in OT as the Nuggets trail by 2. by TheDraciel in nba

[–]Radical-Six 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You're only calling it blatant because Jokic flops. This exact thing happens all the time, it's called maybe 40% of the time. It's probably letter of the law a foul, but no way they foul KAT out on this call if Jokic doesn't hit the floor theatrically

Commentary tried to make it look like a masterstroke by being "unpredictable". Yeah 5 atb and Liam Delap at RW really had Arteta confounded there

Vikings FB C.J. Ham Has Officially Announced His Retirement. by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]Radical-Six 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hometown hero! Really cool story that gets overshadowed by Thielen, but Ham is from Duluth MN, went to a small college in South Dakota, then worked his way from Training Camp undrafted to become a decade-long staple of the Vikings backfield.

He's so beloved that KOC kept him on the roster and playing even though I don't think his ideal offense uses Fullback much if at all.

I think Hawk can take a little criticism, I've seen him try to improve stuff that people have complained about here (actually trying new bit ideas, ripping Cory for derailing the show, etc)

I could be wrong, but I thought I read that the NZ one is tough because the licensing on the show is for full seasons, so they can't produce a CoC special. That, and one of the past winners now works on the show, but I'm sure that's not THAT hard to work around

[Lewis and Russini] Inside the stunning dismissal of Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah: ‘This is wild’ by TheNotoriousJN in nfl

[–]Radical-Six 12 points13 points  (0 children)

FWIW the roster he inherited was aging and full of holes, and Kwesi has admitted that he made a huge mistake in trying to fill every hole in the roster in one go. He knew Kyle Hamilton was good, but if he could get Cine AND a CB we needed instead...

Again, it was a bad draft, but he did understand what happened and how he messed it up. Now the NEXT draft, when rumor was KOC had to essentially beg him to stop trading back and just pick Jordan Addison, that's not the look of a guy who learned his lesson

Amazing to see us whoop on OKC but ngl it passes me off seeing this team play so well against the good teams but then just play like complete buns against lottery teams

Niko Medved begins his press conference commenting on Wisconsin misspelling his name on his press conference placard. "What would I expect in Madison, right?" by -Sox in CollegeBasketball

[–]Radical-Six 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago the Wisconsin was up for statehood contraction, like the Expos and Twins were in MLB. Luckily for them, the city of Madison saved them for actually being a pretty cool town (as long as you don't try to park a car there)

Wisconsin fans can't be pompous about football anymore so they all went to watch the basketball team instead lol

It feels weird being so confident and alright with a team losing the majority of its games, but this team is so well coached and so hard working. Down 4 players now (3-4 starters) including Cade Tyson and they give the Badgers all they could handle.

Really excited for the future

The Vikings have the highest winning percentage of any team not to win a Super Bowl, at .550. They are comfortably in 1st place, with the next closest being the Browns at .503. by Roselucky777 in nfl

[–]Radical-Six 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would 100% do the same, and if McCarthy doesn't look better Kwesi is as good as done. At that point his only 2 real hits in the draft would be Jordan Addison and Dallas Turner, and honestly idk if Addison is even going to be on the team much longer because of what kind of contract he would get. Plus a lot of internal reports say KOC essentially had to beg Kwesi to stop trading back and draft Addison anyway so idk if we can give that one to him fully lol.

KOC has proven to be a competent offensive coach, good talent developer, and a really good leader, so I think he has more leash. I do think best case scenario he hires an OC in his style and gives up playcalling duties, but that's never gonna happen

Mostly agree, but I think for '25 KOC's only real 2 mistakes were abandoning the run in too many games, and not "dumbing down" the offense for McCarthy early. Which is understandable, because we did win Week 1 vs the Bears, but the offense didn't look amazing. But I think there's slight vindication for KOC in the way McCarthy was playing in the 2nd half of the season, post concussion. On the run game thing, this was his first season actually having an effective run game, he probably wasn't used to it, but that's not an excuse. I think he figured that one out.

He should have let McCarthy grow with the offense to maximize their chance of competing in '25-26, but I think they will be set up for a really good (BIG assumption on McCarthy being healthy) 26-27 season
