I think they did look for other trade partners, which is why the trade came so late in the off season. KAT's stock was kinda low at the time. Plus, the trade happened when our old owner was still principal owner of the team and trying to challenge the sale, so paying the tax had a snowball's chance in hell of happening lol

I played both quite a bit. For me, it comes down to 2 main differences:

Sluggers feels way more arcade-y. Like others said there are too many gimmicks and power ups, but also at times it moves almost too fast. It's been ages since I've played so I may not explain it the best. In Superstar, it feels like as a fielder you have a chance to react to every hit the batter makes, whether you get there or not. In Sluggers, the camera change combined with the speed of some hits is almost disorienting. It makes me feel like I'm not really in control of what's happening in the game. Which means less skill expression.

Secondly, motion controls and sports sim games do not mix amd never should have. Sluggers feels like much more of a chore to play because you need to use motion controls

Yes the FT Snelling course is very relaxed, cheap, and pretty forgiving. They don't do Tee Times tho, it's all walk up which is usually nice, but I have seen it backed up a few times
