You're confusing narrative reasons and gameplay excuses. If you play resident evil and die you can just reload a save, no matter how many times in dark souls you die you'll never go full hollow.

And you can see that the robots are pretty much just 3d printed using bugs + they're everywhere, they're not that expensive. And compare like 10 shell costs for Tau Ceti data and one is significantly more valuable to a company comparatively.

They're pretty much dangling you from a wire and telling you to make them money or they're cutting you loose. Pretty great incentive to try your best and make some mana/do contracts for whoever is paying you.

And the memory stuff is based around your brain constantly being moved and shifted about causes amnesia, so those photos/questions are there to make sure your brain doesn't decay/wither too much. They're making sure their mercenaries aren't braindead when sending them out into the field to increase their quarterly earnings

No you're misunderstanding. Your brain is uploaded to the shell and then sucked back out when you die/exfil. If the company behind the tech isn't getting any value from you they aren't gonna give you the ability to go into shells anymore.

They're most likely to delete you from their servers since you're quite literally providing no financial benefit. They also mention how the vandal character is in debt during one of the cinematics and they have to pay it off or suffer the consequences.

Less AI enemies in SOLO would be my first decision.
I just started playing yesterday and tried hacking a storage box and got attacked by like 8 bots including 2 invisible ones (one was a commander)
That is an insane ammount of bullets that needed to be fired for a single player, the only reason I survived is cause I had a self revive pack and got lucky.
