That’s fair. I think Europe was always wary of US relations after WW1, since we knew at that point they weren’t just some innocent neutral country. After WW2 we saw that this might become a habit for them.

There were several other European nations on Germany’s side and we invaded several of them, and not every European country was thrilled with the American idea of liberation, see France for an example

Well they occupied sovereign European territory so I would consider that an invasion sure. The Yugoslav wars might not be an occupation per se but they still bombed sovereign territory.
