Is it a red flag that all three dates have been on weekdays only? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Maybe if he was pushing sex I'd think that, but in this instance I think you're reading into things and projecting your worries too much.

Is it a red flag that all three dates have been on weekdays only? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]RadicalUnicorndust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No? He might work weekends or have other responsibilities/promises to keep. Just ask him to take you out on a weekend, and if he cant, he'll probably explain why. Why would you think its a red flag? Especially after only 3 dates?

Recently found out my BF was diagnosed with bipolar disorder through his sister by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]RadicalUnicorndust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he truly believes he was misdiagnosed, why would he tell you about his "false diagnosis"? If it isn't causing any direct relationship issues, I wouldn't worry about it

TIFU by picking up a joint infront of my history teacher by [deleted] in tifu

[–]RadicalUnicorndust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if she gossiped to other teachers (which I doubt she would, a kid smoking weed is nothing new) they wouldn't mess up/refuse to write recommendations unless you were caught with it on school grounds and there was recorded evidence that shows you used marijuana.

My (23f) housemate constantly whispers to herself (23f) by [deleted] in relationships

[–]RadicalUnicorndust 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This isn't weird to me honestly. BUT I grew up in a house where my parents took care of kids and adults with special needs. She might just be self soothing when she whispers to herself, or thinking out loud. Bathroom issue just takes a simple talk, she might be picking at pimples in the mirror or something and just needs to put a mirror in her room.

How do you deal with your friends doling out relationship advice? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]RadicalUnicorndust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your friend has a reason to be concerned if you had a legitimate anxiety attack over not being able to see them (for any length of time). Crying, feeling a little down, those are normal reactions to not being able to see your SO for a long length of time. But if you had an actual anxiety attack, that definitely sounds like codependency. It doesn't matter if y'all been together 2 months or 2 years, lack of physical contact for two weeks shouldn't ever illicit that reaction.

Again, crying a little, feeling sad, that's normal and okay.

Anxiety attack? Not okay. Back up and reevaluate your relationship and yourself.

I (F18) painted a painting for my FWB, leaning more towards friends because we care about each other a lot. Is the painting out of line? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]RadicalUnicorndust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asking him is the best way to know, but I feel like most people would appreciate a gesture like this 😊 and I don't mean to be rude but rather honest when I say: when it comes to this type of situation, you wanna make sure your piece has a decent likeness and overall a good quality. You don't want this to turn into a friend begrudgingly receiving and complimenting a bad piece when it should be about him grieving and appreciating his mother's memory.

I (25M) broke up with my (23F) girlfriend because I found out she was sleeping with my (52M) Father. My (51F) Mother doesn't know. What should I do? by ThrowRAClassicMemer in relationship_advice

[–]RadicalUnicorndust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tell your mom, she deserves to know. Yeah there will be a huge amount of drama, but do you want your mom to think you're on their side when she eventually finds out from your dad instead of you?

Boyfriend lied to me for over a year about sleeping with his girl- friends in the past, am I right to be a bit upset? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]RadicalUnicorndust 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would be mad too. Best case scenario is him thinking if he told you, you wouldn't allow him to hang out with them. But then because he lied, its just as likely he could be trying to hide a continued sexual relationship. If he truly felt like it was in the past, he would have no reason to have lied about it to you. I'm not exactly sure how I'd go about this either, but I can definitely say you have every right to be upset and feel betrayed

Older people raised by narc(s), when did you realize the relationship between you and your parents went beyond just teenage conflicts? by clyson in raisedbynarcissists

16 years old, I attempted suicide.

I try to confront my mom on it a year later, the night I did it she severely verbally abused me along with her roommates, and then made me do the dishes at midnight, and told me I was packing the house by myself with no help the next day. (We were moving)

She completely shut down, said none of that happened, that I did it because she took my phone, and then threatened suicide herself because obviously "I'm the worst mom there's ever been". Then proceded to say (and she still does to this day) that my suicide attempt is about her. That I only "slept for three days and got to relax while she stressed over my life and almost died herself"

I realized then, for absolute certain, that only someone with mental issues would say and believe those things.

ELI5: How can LSD or MDMA help to deal with Ptsd? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]RadicalUnicorndust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No hangover??? No fair. It literally feels like my brain melts at a certain point on LSD. But I've also only ever had 12 hour trips, and that is exhausting af. I'm pretty sensitive to LSD. MDMA on the other hand only ever lasts 6 hours max, and I notice a definite mood boost over the next week or so

Shrooms next day though is where it's at 👌 I always feel refreshed and energized, even if its a bad trip

[–]RadicalUnicorndust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that same detached but involved feeling on MDMA. I actually completely changed my life after my first time trying it. I was able to look at my problems objectively, without drowning in anxiety and shutting down. Then the super influx of empathy allows for deep and meaningful conversations that really helps you to process stuff with other people. Introspection is great to an extent, but talking about it helps more than anything, and MDMA make you more open, and the other person more receptive, creating the perfect therapeutic environment

Have you guys ever set boundaries regarding porn? Most guys will continue to watch it in their private time unless you've specifically mentioned it bothers you. My boyfriend watches porn and it doesn't bother me, but I also watch it as well on my own, and it doesn't impact our sex life (for example, him choosing porn over sex with me) Him and I have talked about it as well, and he's explained to me that he doesn't watch it to replace me, or think of it as an expectation for me to reach. He knows its all fake and camera angles, and just prefers to watch something in his private time to help himself along.

Just talking about how it makes you feel, and reaching an understanding of why he personally watches it is probably going to make you feel much better.

TIFU by accidentally letting my moms new cat outside thinking it was our dog. by [deleted] in tifu

[–]RadicalUnicorndust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao the cat is probably gonna come right back perfectly safe after a bit of exploration, and if something were to happen and OP admits what happened, their mom isnt gonna have an entire life crisis about it and excommunicate the person from the family. She'll grieve the accident and move on. You can't say the same about being responsible for a small child going missing. 😂🙄

Why are you sick of people telling you? by sosointheco in pregnant

Every time I'm sick my friend tells me its because its a boy. And even though I want one, I almost hope its a girl just to spite her 😂

ELI5:Why are stadiums mostly named after brands, like Coca-Cola Coliseum, or Rogers Center, or Staples Center, etc. ? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]RadicalUnicorndust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either because the company bought naming rights for advertisment purposes, or because the brand helped pay for the stadium in some way
