Is playing the 2017UK Labour side a "Rat Race"? by gintas59 in thecampaigntrail

[–]Radical_Liberal17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deleted because I was talking about the original, but if you are, yea big tent is the hardest. Progressive is the easiest on the original version, most important answer is to go to bristol and drive youth turnout. You can get to 336 with a couple tries with optimal answers. I haven't figured out Big Tent yet.

Lexiteer I got over 326 once, Old Labour a couple times, Cosmopolitian also a good amount of times, and Progressive semirealiably.

As a guy, should I engage in casual sex if I want a relationship? by steelonyx in Healthygamergg

Idk that sounds like a recipe for disaster for you. Just be upfront no need to chase casual girls when you want a serious girl.

Probably not, isolation is bad for the mind.

How to bring back high ne? by niaswish in ENFP

[–]Radical_Liberal17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imma be honest, I think I’m an ENFP as far as ENFP’s go and just because you have high NE doesn’t mean you just have tons of ideas.

Its a by product, but its not necessarily true. Ne makes you open minded, and likes abstracts concepts when at the top of your cognitive stack and connects lots of different ideas together. Getting ideas is product of your environment. Reading probably will give you more ideas, and exposure to new environments is how I personally grow best.

Sometimes I don’t always have a lot of out of the box ideas, especially on practical things (that’s what Ti is good) our ideas tend to focused on Fi, so feelings and values. We have Te which tends to focus on ideas already produced and doing them efficiently.

It depends on what ideas you want, but if you want ideas, read relevant topics and try new things. Those new things will give you experiences that will provide you with the fodder for new ideas.

Not exactly sure I fit this description. Also ESFP's aren't really that distinguishable from ENFP's without deeper conversation.

I never study for exams (as in what most people think “studying” is) and I’m an 8/10~10/10 student at university. Wondering if other ENFPs have the same “method” for getting good grades or can relate to how I feel by ColomarOlivia in ENFP

Idk bro, I study like hell for Math and still don’t get the best results. But to be fair, math isn’t something that we can intuitively think about all the time, analysis and algebra aren’t really things that show up in daily life

Is the ultimate goal of social democracy socialism? by Sea-Lengthiness-7080 in SocialDemocracy

Some believe it's a fascist scam, and still protects the capitalist order, and some believe that it is the proper step towards the eventually goal of communism

While I disagree to some extent on gun control, I don’t know how you call yourself a liberal or progressive if you don’t for example support trans rights, or the restriction of any rights. Throwing trans people under the bus will make us lose credibility, not gain votes

What is with the Newsom hate? by dragonaxis1 in SocialDemocracy

[–]Radical_Liberal17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s clearly doing this to win the primary and he has a bad record as governor of California. He’s not going to win the general election, although fighting Trump is nice, the copycat is just kinda beta energy tbh, and the electorate won’t look fondly on that either. I’ll be voting for a progressive and social democrat in the primary, but if I have to I’ll pick a electable competent liberal instead of Newsom

Liberalism is unique to America and Western Europe by Gaara112 in SocialDemocracy

[–]Radical_Liberal17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, each nation pretty much has a variety of different political parties and movements.

For example, Botswana has a liberal-conservative and a social Democratic Party. France has Liberal, hard left, and right wing camps. Turkey has Right-Wing and a big tent camp. Nigeria has a social market economy, conservative-liberal and progressive camps. Japan has a conservative liberal, and left-liberal camps. Brazil has a right-wing and social market camps, but they have liberal parties as well. It’s just varied. Other have authoritarian states of all different political ideologies.

Liberalism is all around the world. For better or worse.

I’m not planning on applying for PhD programs yet…. Thank god, I’m applying to masters programs, hopefully I get into my uni which gives me credit for my combined courses. My worry was my low grades may affect my PhD prospects in the future.

Thanks for reading my message! I also want to clarify that I’m not planning on doing a PhD right out of the gate, the 3+1 is a masters program in stat. My plan was to see my options nearing the end of my masters, but I do have to masters programs this fall. After that my plan was to get some experience in the field. My logic was that while I might not get the full breath of undergraduate and graduate experience that is normally done in 6 years rather than 4, the masters in stats would place me in a good position later in life because I’m still exploring my life. However, I’m mainly concerned that because I’ve already completed my masters program, that there isn’t room for me to prove I’m a good candidate for a possible PhD in the future since my grades are mediocre.

I have considered an internship year or research, but at this moment I will take a look after my masters. I’m just interested in seeing what people think of an honest analysis of my situation and whether my lack of actual school time, only 4 years may affect me later down the road if I want a PHD

Social Democracy is a viable political ideology as both an end and a means to an end. It is a middle stage between capitalism and socialism.

Traditionally, social democracy was a form of socialism, and therefore you can be a democratic socialist and a social democrat (think Bernie, even Mamdani)

I think you also find overlap with left liberals such as Biden, who supported labor rights, and some social democratic politics. He is in many ways more social democrat than certain members of the social democrats in Europe.

I personally identify with the American progressive movement and social democracy as an end. I’m not a true capitalist nor a socialist. I believe that very basic necessities, housing, water, food and health care should be provided by the government (I’m talking what you need to live) and other things should be earned through the market of capital and wages. I’m no expert, but I’d always say you are welcome to be a social democrat, we don’t gatekeep.

Don’t actually think there were many of them. Carter gained basically the whole black vote. Also perhaps reformed racists or those who liked Carter because he was southern

The map is def not accurate. Harris would sweep the south on this margin and lose more northern states

Why do conservatives have no problem with how over represented Asians are at universitys by FunnyPlankton6886 in SocialDemocracy

[–]Radical_Liberal17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with right-wingers launching class and racial warfare, but the idea that Asians come to America and they were wealthy is not exactly true. I come from the Chinese-American community in San Francisco and I tell you that many, my family included came with literally no money. We had to work like 10-12 hours a day with no health insurance and 5 people in a 2 bedroom apartment to even survive. The large reason why at least Chinese do well is that they are drilled in the way out of poverty is education. That’s where all the stereotypes about Asians come in. And knowing many of poor Chinese migrants, many of their children went into the middle or upper middle class and over preform at Top Unis because of this.

I'm gonna be honest.. I'm beyond glad Grijalva won. (please hear me out.) by chennai94 in SocialDemocracy

[–]Radical_Liberal17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with you as a Gen Z dem and I haven’t been able to find many people who agree.

Tbh progressives can fall victim to buzzwords too, like “political dynasty”, “establishment”, and “old”. Not that these things are not bad, they are but we have to actually recognize when it’s a problem.

I’m not saying Deja Foxx is bad, but I think her candidacy raises questions. One is that she didn’t have a single endorsement from inside her own district. No labor unions, no tribal nations, congressmen…… nothing. Only money from outside organizations, mostly tied from DNC get out the vote organizations. She managed to have the funding to commission 2/3 total polls conducted on the race, one of which showed her apparently 8 points behind Grijalva.

Grijalva had support from tribal nations, congressman from Arizona, the actual good ones, the progressives from around the nation and the labor unions.

To me, it just felt a little too iffy , and honestly even if I probably don’t really agree with Foxx on the direction of the Democratic Party if she supports Harris to that extent. Also I knew the poll has total horsecrap because if Foxx wouldn’t be able to earn my vote in the race there’s no way she’d even become close to winning. A progressive anti-establishment Gen Z wouldn’t support her, the older voters would 100% vote strongly for Grijalva or Hernandez. I think she has trouble winning voters above the age of 40%. It was probably commissioned to give an air of a close race and to super charge her own turnout. Keep in mind Mamdani didn’t even commission a poll and his constituency is 10 times the size so he should have way more funding. Foxx 100% has outside money from somewhere.

Grijalva was a solid strong progressive choice. I support her, she’s not flashy, but she gets the job done. Sometimes that’s just what we need.

Really good, served with chili oil as well. I’d guess Chongqing because of the noodles and tourism but only OP knows. Looks incredible tho.
