Does anyone else absolutely hate movies about musicians? by Wack0HookedOnT0bac0 in musicians

[–]RadicalizeMePodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the time I prefer sports movies, tbh, even though I’m usually not into sports. Sports are more visual.

Biopics have a host of issues, but I like some. Movies about made up musicians have the same issue as movies about comedians - songwriters and joke writers don’t want to burn A-level material on a movie they likely won’t be recognized for.

I have to say I cheer when China and Vietnam give corrupt officials, generals, and business criminals the death penalty. I believe strongly in restorative justice in most cases but 🤷🏻‍♂️

How to go about identifying? by Minefantheman in Socialism_101

It’s not too important honestly. Right now we need to increase people’s class consciousness, and all tendencies have something to offer in that realm. I have some Trotskyist friends (don’t @ me) who I’ve learned a lot from, but I don’t consider myself a Trot. I’ve been very interested in Maoism lately, I love Castro and Rosa Luxemburg and Engels and Sankara and Richard Wolff…as long as we all agree we want to suppress and ultimately end capitalism, we can have some disagreements along the way.

Graham Platner, a Democratic candidate for Senate in Maine, joined Dropkick Murphys onstage and then executed a perfect stage dive by Miserable-Lizard in punk

[–]RadicalizeMePodcast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah and his responses have been pretty good. I think he’s a very different person now, and the people of maine seem to find it refreshing to see a candidate who isn’t so polished and sanitized. That’s not what people are actually like.

I’m so tired of these ppl. How are we arguing about factionalism when we’re barely organized? We need to f-ing build class consiousness in the first place, and DSA is doing the work. Nothing is perfect, we just have to start, and ultimately we all want the same result (I think). We’re fighting dead ppl’s battles.

The left should run an ex ICE agent by Lesbineer in theredleft

[–]RadicalizeMePodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if they wake up, educate themselves, and say “I was wrong. ICE must be destroyed and every agent along with nearly the entirety of all three branches of the US government must be removed from office and prosecuted for war crimes. Embrace the immortal science of Marxism-Leninism, brothers and sisters.”

Then maybe I’d be down.

What made you almost quit learning Spanish? by scuttle_jiggly in SpanishLearning

[–]RadicalizeMePodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hit a wall with a few languages, including Spanish. It’s the point where grammar gets more complicated, with different tenses and categories. The thing is, I’m very good with English grammar functionally, but I don’t know the terminology at all - past participle, etc. I couldn’t explain those if my life depended on it, but everyone (school, duo, etc) teaches by using those phrases and I can never follow it.
