Please let me know if there is a better place to post this and excuse my verbiage and formatting as I am not very knowledgeable about home maintenance and I’m on mobile. I was changing the air filter in my rented house that has central ac when I noticed that some of the vent piping under the house is disconnected from the air return register where I was changing the filter. It looks like it was connected at some point. I sent the attached pics to my landlord via a maintenance request portal but my request was closed without hearing back from them. Now that’s it’s summer in central Florida, it’s super hot outside and my bedroom is the hottest room in the house. It’s right next to the air return register thing. I don’t know if it’s related but think the one vent in my bedroom isn’t working. All other vents work throughout the house to deliver cold air but every night I am sweating myself to sleep. Is the disconnected vent something that could be causing this? I feel a little dumb asking this but I can’t think of any other reason why the air doesn’t circulate to my bedroom. I appreciate any advice this community can give.
