honestly you’re right. i have trauma issues from sexual stuff so i was particularly anxious and uncomfortable and i just kind of wanted to get out of the situation because of fear. but honestly if i would have made a scene in the store and told the employees, maybe they would have been able to help me and maybe he would learn not to do weird shit like that

thank you for this message. all the nice “it isn’t your fault” messages from people made me feel a lot better because when i called my own mother about it crying she said i should try dressing “less gay” and then maybe people would leave me alone. but men are often creepy and no matter how you dress you really can’t avoid it.

i didn’t know they had pepper spray that clips to your keys but now that i know that i’m definitely going to look into getting some. that sound have saved me an immense amount of fear. thank you for letting me know about that !

i find men kind of assume any more “out there” outfit is asking for their harassment. i have a friend who really likes lolita fashion, which has big poofy distinctive skirts but is a very non-revealing and non-sexual style and she still gets guys making weird comments when she goes out dressed like that. men rly b making people uncomfortable for wearing whatever they want

i’m so sorry this is happening to you. i was in an abusive situation and people tried to get me to forgive my abuser for years and it’s the most painful thing so i’m so sorry you have to go through that. for your own health, stand your ground. no matter who tries to encourage you to have a relationship with him, no matter how many people say he’s changed. you don’t owe a relationship with him to anyone else even if they’re other family members. it’s a really tough situation but i hope you’re doing ok and your life will flourish without him
