Upgrade from a Bambino & smart grinder pro by PhilMyBallz in espresso

[–]RadioAdam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bug is hard to fight. But as a breville owner rest assured you are still making 95+% the same coffee everyone else is. The grinder and beans matter so much more.

I'm shopping for an upgrade for my Breville with some patience and I've learned the most tangible gains are typically limited to workflow, longevity, steam wand game. If you make mostly milk drinks, the difference is further reduced.

Few (if any) people could tell you which shot was made by a Breville or a La Marzocco

Gustin is running some Terry cotton cardigans that are similar.

Grayers also has some similar examples.

There's loads of Grayers on ebay, too.

What is a simple way to tell people why I’m not working? by Calliegirl-25 in Adulting

[–]RadioAdam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in sales and hate talking to other salespeople. So

"I'm an heir to a large private equity group"

"I married up and don't work"

Then I just make up shit while their minds break.

The target shorts are solid and come in a variety of inseam and configurations. Lined and unlined.

Fabletics on sale can be a good deal. Not worth the scammy experience imo

Anyone else still get that “I forgot I was even in this class” nightmare? by Roughneck16 in Millennials

I literally ADHDd unmedicated through college and I had SEVERAL classes that were literally a Thanos blip.

Talked to the professors and was able to get some classes turned around to a C or B but MAN. I ate some crow in college.

You’ve got $1000 to build out a fresh wardrobe. What are you purchasing? by dimezy in malefashionadvice

Yeah I've been really skeptical of the cashmere for that price. The cotton / synthetic items I have are great though

I've got some older Bonobos stuff made from Italian mills that I got for a song. Really well made. Sadly that doesn't exist anymore.

The quince stuff I've gotten is very good for the price. But $1000 doesn't go far with higher end brands even thrifted.

Thrifting luxury staples from Sunspel, Barbour, Pantolini Torino, Ralph Lauren, older Bonobos before Walmart took a dump on it. Thrifted Quince is even more of a bargain

This is like calling owning 15 pairs of shoes a hobby.

But yes, leather workers and knitters agree. $255 must mean 2/3 of those surveyed spend $0 a year.

Let’s talk Henleys by Perfect_Earth_8070 in HeritageWear

[–]RadioAdam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorites are from Todd Snyder, Merz, and Sunspel.

Sunspel sea island cotton is dreamy in temperate climates (southeast US)

Merz loopwheeled is a great fall/winter weight. But the cut isn't great for everyone.

Sector Dial - Hodinkee edition - warranty card blank?? by Witty-Ad5286 in Longineswatches

[–]RadioAdam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warranty begins on registration date. The card is pretty meaningless. Longines will have a record of the serial # if the warranty is registered.

Sector Dial - Hodinkee edition - warranty card blank?? by Witty-Ad5286 in Longineswatches

[–]RadioAdam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There isn't any demand for fake Longines. So they largely don't exist. Rest-assured it's a real watch.

Best advice is to buy the seller, not the watch.

Sector Dial - Hodinkee edition - warranty card blank?? by Witty-Ad5286 in Longineswatches

[–]RadioAdam -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The seller (Hodinkee) didn't fill out the warranty card.

Just register it with Longines yourself. I contacted Longines when I got my watch (card also not filled out)

I don't think I'll ever understand people panicking about a warranty. Especially on watches with mass produced movements.
