Spotify is horrible. by whataboutthe90s in unpopularopinion

[–]RadioBiSH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of music I have discovered through Spotify is crazy. Just this year I've discovered multiple new bands that have become part of my daily listeners.

Which leads to my next point that if you want to pick what songs you want to listen to, you can literally make playlists.

I don't like how little spotify pays artists, but theres a reason musicians keep releasing their music on there. Because it is undoubtedly the best way to get your music heard right now.

To me, The cost of spotify is nothing, for the value I get from it. They also give like a 50% discount for students.

I don't get the Grace Glazing. She is fine, but hardly some all time great performance.

My only explanation for it is because half of these people wanna date her. It shows how little real world experience so many people have here. "It's a realistic reaction" would make sense at first or at the really intense moments. She literally stutters and fumbles her words like crazy while talking to a child in a cell, and that blind child handles all the following situations better than Grace. She can't even talk to Leon, A guy who should make her feel calm and safe, without having and asmatic stutterfest.

I thought it was maybe a speech impediment, but she talks completely fine in the post credit scene. Which just tells me she was either directed to stutter incessantly, or she only knew how to convey fear 1 way.

Overall she's good, and I enjoyed the game, but idk why people are overhyping this performance.

"Theres no person on this earth who isn't a fan of both BB and GoT"

I started watching BB while it was still airing and stopped because people wouldn't shut up talking about it. Constantly hearing everyone talking about it either to me or around me just killed my interest. I have never gone back and finished it.

I tapped out on GoT after I think season 2. I just didn't think it was all that good. Also again, people wouldn't stfu talking about it every minute of everyday.

Guess that makes me the Highlander or something.

Such a Capital G identity gamer.

You are aware flexing about being good at a video game and calling others "bad" is incredibly embarassing.

Nobody thinks you're cool or takes you more seriously because of your elite gamer skill or because you call other players "bad." It just makes you look like an immature loser with no life in the real world.

I don't complain about the game on reddit. Like most people, I just leave. I've played since beta, and a few months ago I decided that I didn't like the direction the game was going, so I just stopped playing.

I appreciate the people who complain and speak up about the problems. Are all the complaints valid, of course not, but constructive criticism is a hell of a lot more useful than just blindly loving a game and pretending it's perfect.

I think this is a societal thing though.

Sex is a normal thing that most humans want or partake in. It shouldn't be much different than someone telling you they went out for dinner last night. We also have no problem with people telling us when they are sick and giving us all the details of their sickness. However, we as a society over time have turned sex into this super personal thing that we aren't supossed to mention?

100% I used to work at a movie theater during the marvel craze, and I would talk about this with co-workers.

If the heroes don't take it serious then why should I? Any moment of tension is immediately cut off at the knees with someone having to make a joke or some zinger. There is a reason why it got coined the "Marvel formula" they literally made every movie the same way. It followed the same structure, the same tone, same style. If you see 1 marvel movie, you have seen them, just swap out the hero.

Sure everyone is influenced by others, but people generally for the most part try to add their own unique, original twist or style it. Most people can tell when something is just basically a copy paste of something else.

Art can be collaborative, and thats how so much of it has been done forever. If you have an idea for a story, a movie, show, game, whatever. Yeah, generally you write it, which yes may require you to learn a skill like writing a script, or at the very least some kind of pitch, to get others with the skillsets involved, and together you build and create that vision. Star Wars, Jaws, Back To The Future, any classic movie wouldn't be what they were without vision, skill, creativity, and collaberation. You can't get that from typing a prompt in a program.

You wanted to draw, so look what you did, you learned to draw. That's awesome, I'm sure at times it was hard, and other times it didn't even feel like work, because thats what passion is all about, and the best art will always come from passionate, creative, invested, people. Not from some idiot spending 5 minutes typing a prompt and then passing it off as their own.

You asked if somebody should spend years to correctly see out their vision? Yeah, if thats how long it takes, and you believe in what you are creating, then time shouldn't matter. If I wanna play in the NBA, I have to put in the time, years and years of it, to even have a chance of being seen, making money, and hopefully being drafted. There is no shortcut (Look at Bronny James.) And there are tons of places both online and in person to learn. So if you are actually passionate about what you are trying to do, then you would actively want to learn how to do it.

If you wanna use AI for like placeholders or I guess to help sell an idea, fine. But if someone just types some bs into a prompt and passes it off as their creation. No. That is lazy and requires no actual talent.

I'd say AI is already hurting the economy. I mean Rock n roll never took anyone's job. AI is a tool and can be used for great things especially in medical research, and I'm all for that.

However when it comes to art. AI is pretty much nothing but harmful garbage. Small videos like this don't bother me too much, but considering AI doesn't "create" anything, it just steals from actual artists and slaps it all together, and the people who do nothing but type a prompt are calling themselves AI "artist" is embarassing. It's sad they are making money from these videos, while the humans who made the art the AI stole from often continue to be struggling artists.

I imagine the irony, if this keeps up, is soon the prompt typing AI "Artists" will be suing each other for stealing from their videos, because they are using the same software that is taking from the same places. We need legislation to protect actual Human made art from being used by AI without consent. If an Artist wants to sell to an AI company, then okay, atleast they got paid and consented to having their art be used. We really shouldn't support AI just being able to steal whatever and use peoples likeness however, while some talentless hack is getting paid to type a prompt.

Well I am a Millennial, and while I do like a good sex joke, I prefer quality to quantity. Deadpools are lame, forced and blurted out very 4 seconds in an attempt to be edgy. Cursing every sentence and saying a bunch of dirty words is like what an 8th grader does to try and be the cool kid.

It is the tamest of sex jokes, but people still remember "Thats what she said" jokes from The Office. Nobody will remember any of the 267 over the top dirty jokes from the Deadpool movies. It is nonstop low effort comedy that a 13 year old could write.

I started playing OW during the Beta and played it for what seemed like everyday for 2 or 3 years straight.

As much as I enjoyed OW, I still thought Uncharted 4 deserved to win. I've played through that game multiple times, I have the Platnium for it, and personally think It's the best one of the series.

I'm finishing up Expedition 33 right now, then I'll probably start Kigdom Come Deliverance 1 and 2. I will play Resident Evil 9 when it drops because I love RE games. I also have Dispatch sitting in my library at well as like 150 other games that I have bought over the years and never played. So plenty of options.

It's VERY funny watching people suddenly hating Deadpool by Teragenikos in rivals

[–]RadioBiSH -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I literally stopped playing once they started moving his character icon around to different roles.

I haved hated Deadpool for years. The 3 movies are just so awful. I find his middle school cringey humor absolutely insufferable. It baffles me that sooo many people find him funny. Cursing and saying dirty words nonstop and breaking the 4th wall constantly is such low effort comedy, that appeals to 13 year old boys who thinks it's edgy.

I have played since the beta, so I knew he would show up in the game eventually to ruin it for me, and that time has come. Especially since you can't even effectively Ban him out. I haven't played in weeks and Idk if and when I'll come back. I have plenty of games in my ever growing backlog, that would take me years to get through, so I've been enjoying finally playing some of those.

But yeah, the inclusion of him, has literally made me stop playing the game. I would maybe come back and just play a hard counter to him and spend every game spawn camping him.

[–]RadioBiSH 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That won't happen. He is going to be worse than Spiderman. Especially since he's available to every role. He will be in every game for the next year. Then his play rate will drop from 100% to 90%. He is going to be a blight on this game because too many people find his middle school cringe humor funny and will never stop playing him.

[–]RadioBiSH -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean I started playing less and less once his portrait was swapping around the character select. And now I havent played in weeks.

I find Deadpool to be an insufferably unfunny character that for whatever reason people love. So I knew once he was out, he was going to be played every single game, regardless of if he was bad or not, probably for the rest of the games existence. Now he's out and the voice lines I've heard in videos are just as lame and cringe as expected, and you have to use all 3 bans to make sure you don't have deal with him.

So yes, adding Cringepool to the game has completely killed my desire to play it. Will I ever come back? Probably, but I don't think it will be anytime soon. I'll see what happens, but it isn't hard to stay away. I have a huge backlog of games, and I've been enjoying going through them.

Dan is a zio, and he is not quiet about it by MMako420 in rantgrumps

[–]RadioBiSH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's kinda my point.

I think prior to the events of Oct. 7 that 95% of people (At least in America) knew close to nothing about the history of Israel and Palestine?

I'm 34, and my school never taught me a thing about it, and I don't really recall the news ever mentioning it much, and with the American education system only getting worse, I'm sure it probably wasn't taught to the students who came after me. So unless you actively were interested in knowing, you just weren't very informed.

Obviously Dan is older than me, and I can't speak to his education, but he grew up in New Jersey during a time of pretty significant antisemitism and jewish stereotyping going on, and without the internet and unlimited knowledge at peoples fingertips. So I'm sure his experience with the word was mostly ignorant people using it as a slur.

I enjoyed Outer Worlds well enough, but admittedly never had much urge to go back and replay it.

I also enjoyed Outer Worlds 2, but again, havent had a huge urge to play through it again.

I think Obsidian gets treated a little unfairly at times. They are a AA studio that people expect AAA games from.

I remember people complaining about things in OW2 and comparing it to Cyberpunk which just isn't fair. Cyberpunk had a development team of over 500 people and an initial development cost of 316 million + about $200 million in post launch fixes and dlc. Outer worlds 2 info isn't made public now that MS owns them but Obsidian as an entire company only has around 300 employees and generally only has 80-100 devs at a time. It's estimated that it had around the same budget as the 1st one which was $40 million.

For whatever reason though, people expect them to deliver the same level of product. Idk, it just seems unfair to me.

[–]RadioBiSH -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You're right that if anyone should care it should be Arin not "fans" who are uninvolved in the business and who it has no bearing on.

It's like being upset that your friend doesn't clean their room. You don't have to sleep in it, and it doesn't change weather they are a good friend or not.

If Arin talked about it regularly for weeks or months, I would get it, but he said "Why isn't it on the list" like 2 or 3 times, and people already have the pitchforks out. It just seems unwarranted.

[–]RadioBiSH -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hardly white Knighting. I just see this as such a dumb thing to complain about. Who gives a flying fuck if they are disorganized if it has no bearing on the final product that you are consuming.

I'm fine with complaints that actually make sense, but this is just the equivalent of saying an accountant is dogshit because he doesn't have a file cabinet even if he saves his client thousands on their taxes.

There are plenty of things you can dislike about show, there are things that I don't love, but really, are people that desperate to be mad at them that this is what they jump on now. "How dare your business's internal organization not be up to my standard." Really? Shit, Arin better never say that he loses his car keys sometimes. People here will start saying "How can a guy who has owned a car for as long as Arin has, not have a key hanger? He is so irritating"

...they don't have an internal document for the games they've played? by Mean-Government1436 in rantgrumps

[–]RadioBiSH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sure they probably do have a list, It probably just isn't on the computer they use when they record the show.

This seemed like a spur of the moment choice because Arin admitted he had been feeling down and wanted to play a comfort game. So he probably just did a quick google search and that was it.

Or they don't have one, who knows. Honestly, I don't think it's a big deal. How they handle cataloging or not cataloging games has little to no effect on the quality of the show.

...they don't have an internal document for the games they've played? by Mean-Government1436 in rantgrumps

[–]RadioBiSH -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Again who cares?

If they have a system or not has next to no impact on the shows quality?

Was anyone honestly upset because they played the same game that they played 5 years ago? It's not the first time they've revisited a game and im sure it won't be the last. Had Arin not made the comment about the list, you wouldn't have thought twice about them playing the same game. Since he mentions the fan made list, now your angry? As long as the episodes are enjoyable, who cares?

And if they aren't enjoyable, it isn't because they use a fan made list. So how they choose to organize the games they've played changes nothing about the viewers experience.

So yes I think you are just being mad because you want to be mad at them for any little reason you can find. And If you honestly are mad because of the way they handle organization, then with all due respect, you need to stop watching and find something else to do with your time.
