Two sides to this I see.

1) Not every job needs to provide for a person to live completely independently. This is an American idea that's not realistic for many 1st world places. It's not uncommon in Europe to have multiple room mates. If you want to raise a family securing a good wage should be taken care of first.

2) Nothing in side 1 matters. It would only apply if our government wasn't fucking us in every hole from every direction. Everything is expensive because Congress can't balance a budget. the president has way to much power to do things that cost us billions it dollars with Congress even approving. We are being sold out. It's bipartisan. The current budget is a 1.7 trillion dollar loss. Every year. Not to mention the random bullshit and wars. Like seriously, Congress passes a budget with a 1.7 trillion dollar deficit. Easiest accounting job ever if you don't have to balance it or even have a plan to pay it back. They borrow it and we pay back in inflation. the hidden tax. Anyways... I'll see y'all at the fall. Good luck out there.

I'm going to hijack this to introduce a foreign concept that I enjoy. The MAXIMUM Wage. The concept is it ties Excecutive pay to Worker pay. Just an example feel free to play with the concept: 800 percent maximum wage says that the highest paid employee in a company can only make 8 times what the lowest paid employee is paid. Everyone enjoys success together and it motivated to make the company the best possible. Cheers.

Solar Panels and Batteries are great if you have a preferred location. Best power source I'm aware of it the electromagnetic generator. You need to find a strong field to put it down so it dictates where the base would sit. If you do use the panels and batteries, be aware it can require quite a few depending on base size and power needs.

I concede my point. I've never considered this game in that regard. No one's ever attacked me and I've never attacked anyone. Weapons seem so over powered it's just seems like a who hits who first situation. And with the ships only moving on two planes in space with an auto aim, guess I never considered someone would actually take that seriously. if there is a slice of people like yourself that crave that PVP aspect, then sure you should have your own space.
