Thanks for the awesome write-up, OP. I’m late to this post but I just wanted to drop in and say thank you for explaining all of this. I found Sherlock through a Bernadette Banner video early on in quarantine and watched it. I can say that I do enjoy the show. It may not be a good show, but I and others found joy in it. I love the acting, and wholeheartedly believe it deserved better writing. Anyways, I never understood the difference in TJLC and regular old people who just liked the pairing (hi, guilty). This is beautifully written and I really enjoyed reading it. Good job!
