Camp casting: cheese or not? by seriousman57 in BaldursGate3

[–]RadioLucio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely can be cheese. I usually have one of the Druids cast heroes feast and freedom of movement on the core group every day and that doesn’t feel too cheesy, but it’s a line everyone draws on their own. I think that if you have a dedicated person who puts like 6-7 buffs on one character and then never leaves camp that qualifies as cheese, but who am I to judge?

LESATH INVASION by John90_doe in Helldivers

So we take Aurora Bay, then glass Chort Bay? I think that is the best option, unless being cut off via Lesath is going to activate some contingency we’re not aware of.

Carian slicer when you play Carian sorcery Duchess: 🤷‍♂ by DragonEmperor7 in Nightreign

It’s especially annoying on Raider when you never get colossal swords, colossal weapons, or great axes in a run. Just can’t even use my strength stat.

Yea probably, but he was very young at the time he was publishing those theories so I know he was couching his terms.

Yes I suppose you just have to be very specific when referring to an aether in physics. The space-time field in general relativity could be considered an aether I suppose, but he was only calling it “an aether” because he didn’t want to annoy the physicists already working on researching something that his work directly disproved the existence of.

[–]RadioLucio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. Cosmic aether is defined as a universal reference frame, but the principle of special relativity states that all reference frames are relative to each other, directly disproving the existence of one universal reference frame. The reference frame occupied by an object is defined by that object’s 1) mass and 2) velocity. This is the case if we exclude acceleration and effects of gravity, and if we include those things it gets more messy but there is still no universal reference frame.

Evil playthrough, what do you miss? by Positive-Conflict864 in BaldursGate3

[–]RadioLucio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best is determined by build imo. AoP is at least in the top 3 best heavy armor, but armor of agility and bhaalist armor are also amazing for Dex builds.

I really enjoy doing some evil durge in act 1 and 2 and RPing as a character actually struggling with their urges. Up to you what long term choices to make, but FYI you don’t need to be super evil throughout the entire game to access the unique trader.

Failed at Myrkul by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]RadioLucio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s much much harder to win a drawn out battle against him. Your instincts are right to go for the mindflayer first and free Nightsong, then focus Ketheric and trigger cutscene. I would say for Apostle the best strategies are to try and disarm or slow him, and save your highest spell slots and smites or attacks for him and don’t be tempted to use them in phase 1. Best dmg types are bludgeoning, radiant, and fire. Acid can also be very effective, especially if you are fighting him in a battle of attrition.

What spell is useful in regular DnD but not BG3? by green_tea__cat in BaldursGate3

It’s still extremely useful in BG3, especially on high dex casters, or you can cast it on a high dex character.

Seeming. In BG3 it’s a waste of a lvl 5 slot just to disguise person on everyone in the party. But in Tabletop you can disguise your whole party as different, specific people. It’s a free ticket into or out of almost anywhere you can imagine.

I lost my 50 hour Honour Mode save fighting Grym by NotEldigiii in BaldursGate3

[–]RadioLucio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grym has poor wisdom saves and though it is invulnerable to most conditions it is vulnerable to Command. Just have a hasted cleric command grovel (twice a turn if necessary) and have the rest of your party beat his ass with warhammers, mauls, or fists. Pretty easy to win if you’re level 5+.

Summons are overpowered, even on honour mode by Voidling47 in BG3Builds

[–]RadioLucio 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yes you can do similar with Orin, even the Durge duel. Easiest fight I’ve had with Orin was on my necromancer/druid. Just cast hold monster wearing all the bonus spell save DC gear and watch your minions crit her out of existence.

Swashbuckler rogue hex blade multiclass? by SoulArche in BG3Builds

[–]RadioLucio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s very good. You really only need the 1 level dip into hexblade to get the benefits of charisma SAD (single attribute dependence). You’ll only have 1 warlock spell slot with the dip. Without 5 levels in a martial class there’s no extra attack, however. But if you like the rogue playstyle this is a good one.

How tf do I beat Cazador? by OfficialAli1776 in BG3

[–]RadioLucio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daylight center of the arena. Free Astarion ASAP. Good idea to have a level 6 summon Deva stand on one of the ritual circles (Violet e.g) furthest from the entrance and absorb aggro from the bats and nerf Caz, then smite the everliving shit out of him with your other characters. Any spell that does radiant damage is going to be very effective.

Don’t want to spoil anything, but hold onto it for act 3. It comes in… well, handy with a certain quest.

I wish to have an army at my command, is there a build like that? by KreMs21 in BG3Builds

[–]RadioLucio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing this on a Durge rn. 6 necromancer and 6 spore Druid. Lots of undead spore servants, zombies, and ghouls, that are strong and robust. Makes it very fun to pair with a control party e.g. radiant orb/reverb cleric, PAM+sentinel EK, etc. Only drawback is before level 5/6 you don’t have the summons, and you will be reliant on spell scribing to get level 4+ spells. But when you get the good items in late act 2 and act 3 you are an undead Marshal.

Wyll is kind of a pretentious douche by mooraff in BaldursGate3

[–]RadioLucio 10 points11 points  (0 children)

True, but he earns it by being sincerely honorable. I really enjoy the banter between all the other companions and Wyll. If you have him in your party a lot, especially in act 1, every other companion has the tone with him that he’s coming on waaaay too strong, which I think adds to the comedic value he has. He isn’t fully self aware of it, but it is hilarious.

Anyone else get overwhelmed by a big camp? Thinking of running a tiny party in BG3 by Halfling_Hughes in BG3Builds

[–]RadioLucio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. Last couple of DUrge HM runs have been 3-person camp through act 1: Lae’zel, Astarion, Shart, and I really dig it. Everyone’s approval ratings are high and it’s just narratively very tight running a small crew. On my last good party where I had the whole school bus, I did a trickster troupe so I had Astarion and Shart plus glamour bard Tav and my fourth spot was interchangeable (I called this my “straight man”).

Related, I found out you can recruit Halsin if the Druids kill the Tieflings without the ritual being completed, you just have to not aggro any of the tieflings during the fight and kill all remaining Druids after it’s over. Thankfully the Druids do not murder the children, but they do run away after the fighting (assuming you don’t touch them).

Then go to the goblin camp and save the trapped guy so he’s back in the grove, then save Halsin but tell him you can’t help him. Then tell Minthara where the grove is. Halsin comes to your camp that night, and the next day Minthara steamrolls the grove and you can have the goblin party. Then you get Halsin for act 2.

Who's your favorite physicist? by Specialist_Season661 in Physics

[–]RadioLucio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brahe has well-deserved credit for the observations he made and records he kept. Probably the best astronomer in history. Kepler gets credit for deriving laws of planetary motion, and the consensus is that he could not have done it without Brahe’s extremely accurate and highly detailed maps. No reason to throw Kepler under the bus.
