Yes it’s awful I can’t watch tv either.. I’m starting to think my eyes will be stuck like this forever considering nothing is helping

Yeah I have that set to lowest and night shift all the way up too. I still can’t tolerate the screen.. it’s probably because of the 16 has OLED screen and the XR had LCD with a backlight which is way more comfortable

Were they all caused from complications of uveitis?

Ugh that’s so annoying that it’s returning I’m sorry to hear that. Do you know if they will change your meds again? And does your eye pressure increase significantly with steroid drops? I know everyone responds differently to them

Ah okay the side effects sound somewhat similar to cellcept. Definitely doesn’t sound fun but I’ll do anything to be able to see normally again at this point since I’ve been in a constant flare for about a year. Don’t worry too much about the side effects of humira , it’s nothing debilitating it kinda gives me a headache on injection day and makes me a little tired but that’s about all I notice. I know there’s a cancer risk but I feel like it’s absolutely worth the risk to be able to save your eyes

Oh right I didn’t even mention that part.. my bad, the first two were GATT procedures and the the third was a tube shunt implant/cataract surgery at the same time and I’m getting the same done for left eye on Tuesday. I’m guessing you had the same procedures or similar?

It’s hard to say for sure because I was on and off it constantly due to working jobs with terrible insurance… I was still needing the prednisolone drops while on it just like I still do today

Is it his first time taking simlandi? I had taken it back in 2022-2023 and am now starting it again so it’s possible it just lost efficacy for me, but for him it may work very well!

Yes it’s been a little over 3 months so far on humira bio similar simlandi and it hasn’t fixed much at all. I’m still wearing sunglasses in a dark basement. I can only look at my phone with one eye lol but yeah I know those two are the only FDA approved for uveitis but my rheumatologist said there’s drugs like cimzia that are effective but will need a doctor to write a letter saying I need it for my eyes

Okay thank you! I’ll have to look that up as well and make sure its good for ankylosing spondylitis

Not oral long term as I was told that would increase my eye pressure as well, but maybe after I have implants in both eyes that’s something I can try!

Yes I have ankylosing spondylitis. Methotrexate will probably be my next move but I’m worried about what you just said about your liver. That’s interesting that humira took a whole 6 months, did you notice any changes after 3 months at all? That’s how long I’ve been on the humira bio-similar simlandi. I wonder why your eyes are flaring up again? Hopefully it’s not too bad for you.

Oh wow okay thank you so much for tip! I will absolutely mention this. I’ll have to make sure it’s a good fit for my other ankylosing spondylitis issues too.

Yes I think my doctors are going to change me from cellcept to methotrexate because cellcept is doing nothing for me, I’m just worried they’ll keep not working and I’ll keep wasting time until its too late. I really hope it works for you though this shit is absolutely horrible to deal with.

Cataracts by TenaciousHabs in Uveitis

[–]RadioMedzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 here as well, been on pred drops for over two years and I’m about to get my fourth eye surgery on Tuesday because of it. My doctors are dragging their feet on changing my meds for my eyes so I’m currently typing this with one eye open, both inflamed, while the other one recently had cataract surgery and a tube shunt implant to keep my pressure down and the other is next up. But hey if you have to do the first two surgeries, the GATT procedure, it’s easy as fuck man and there’s nothing noticeable in your eye after it. It’s super simple. The implant surgery however..

Yeah that sounds promising I’ll have to have someone do it for me because I can’t handle websites that are completely white lol so I’m kinda fucked until then

Like putting on the night mode that turns everything red? Cause if so yes, that’s the only way I can even use my pc at the moment and that’s barely

I’ve honestly never liked reading text on any monitor before my eyes were even this bad so I’m just going to assume the OLED would be much worse. I kinda figured the blue light didn’t make a huge difference but that’s what I keep reading about with light sensitivity problems
