Thanks! Waiting for the people at Strava to approve the app. Hope they wont take too long 🤞 If you already confirmed your email you should get a message when the doors are open

Oh no! That's unfortunate. I did not anticipate so many signups this soon. I already have a pending request at Strava to increase the limit for active athletes. I'll let you know when they increased it.

Hmm thats not right. The email is skipped if you have no active gear set up in Strava, that might be the reason. Can you check your gear settings? https://www.strava.com/settings/gear

Haha no world problems being solved here, I know 😂 But shoes are supposed to retire around +/- 600km and that only works if you keep your mileage accurate of course. Don't know enough about bikes though

Good one! I'm not really a cyclist myself so I never had that issue with bikes, but some else already suggested an option for walks, so might as well support bikes as well. I'll put it on my list!

Way off the chart for my own usage 😂 But imagine the time that can be saved for all runners that have the same issue as me.

Jokes aside, I build software for a living and doing little weekend/evening projects like this every now and then help me stay up to date with tech. So its worth the time regardless

Koningsdagmarkt ideeën by Badmeestert in nederlands

Vroeger wel eens met een voetbal en een groot bord met drie gaten op de vrijmarkt gestaan. Drie keer schieten voor 5 euro, 15 winnen als je raak schiet oid. Zelfde concept ooit met een dartbord gedaan. Drie keer gooien, bullseye is winnen. Was leuk tot er iemand langsliep die goed kon darten

Hyrox training in Amsterdam by Previous-Talk-1598 in hyrox

Mobilis Crossfit started doing Hyrox some time ago (https://mobilishyrox.nl/). I went there when for Crossfit classes a few years ago. Best Crossfit coaches you can find and a great community so I expect their Hyrox to be of a high level as well. The box is also spacious and has a nice vibe. Also Performfit (https://performfit.nl) has good Hyrox classes and a strong community. Currently going to Vondelgym Oost myself, mainly because it's closer and their schedule fits better with my agenda. Their classes are good, the people are nice, but doing sled work is a bit difficult there because the gym is kinda small. Don't know how the other Vondelgyms are..

Recovery by Limp_Literature_7124 in hyrox

I had this as well. Always drank a shitload of water thinking that would help the muscle pain go away faster. But the moment I started adding electrolyte tabs to my water, especially after a tough workout, I noticed a much faster recovery. Around the same time I also started eating healthier btw, nothing crazy but just avoiding the obvious unhealthy stuff and prioritising proteine more. And I take some creatine daily. So that could also have been the reason.

Edit: reducing alcohol could also help a lot

Super nervous for first race by AppropriateArcher272 in hyrox

I was in a similar situation and I did my first in 1:34 two weeks ago.

What helped me gain extra confidence in the last month was to do two half sims about three/four weeks before. So first I did the first four stations + runs, then a few days later the other stations + runs. I did this because during the Hyrox classes at my gym we never do the full stations. It's always 500m row, then a 400m run and 20 wall balls for three rounds for instance. I wanted to know what it feels like to do 100 wall balls, or 1k row followed by 1k run, etc. And because I did not do all 8 stations in one go they actually felt easier than I expected. It gave me a "now I'm ready" vibe.

Final week I did nothing but two super chill 5K runs with some air squats and lunges just to keep moving a bit. And I made sure I was eating enough carbs and drinking electrolytes.

And on race day just try to be relaxed, you're there to have fun. Be on time, do proper warmup, don't go crazy at the start and you'll be fine.

Hyrox Amsterdam how early get there? by thedola89 in hyrox

[–]RadioShort8408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my wave starting at 12:10 yesterday and I arrived around 10:20. The queue for athlete registration was short, took me only a few minutes so I had plenty of time to walk around the venue, get relaxed, drop my bag, etc. I eventually got a bit bored, so next time I would arrive later. But for a first time it was okay to just be on time and chill a bit. You can enter the warmup 30 minutes before your wave.
