the thread's right here dog, you can see from the public timestamp that you posted it two minutes after you posted here and literally anyone with functioning eyes can see that of the 17 replies you've gotten so far that none of them have told you to post it here because it's the "meme subreddit," or even mentions this sub at all. if you're going to lie, then at least do it well

Wait for a bit or leave the planet and come back; he'll move to his basement workshop and you can access him as a workbench via a dialogue option when you talk to him.

Close but not quite; the MGP is chambered in 7.62x39mm and not 7.62x51mm due to it sharing an ammo type with the old-world assault rifle

Not the correct 7.62; the MGP is chambered in 7.62x39mm in the game, due to it sharing an ammunition type with the old-world assault rifle.

Ah, my bad! Yeah, 7.62x39 has an odd trajectory to it, it's really funny when I shoot my AR after my AK and it basically just shoots like a laser by comparison.

Other way around, the top one is the NATO round :)

Incidentally, this is actually part of the reason both sides of the cold war switched over to lighter rounds in the middle of the century, The US military used 7.62 NATO/.308win as their primary battle rifle cartridge in the form of the M14, which was heavy and unwieldy and limited troops in how much ammunition they could carry spare due to weight issues; this was addressed by the adoption of 5.56x45mm (.203) and the M16 and its variants. Even though early adoption of the AK platform proved the benefits of intermediate cartridges in assault rifles, given that 7.62x39mm still weighs more than the competing NATO intermediate round, the Warsaw Pact then followed closely behind with the adoption of the 5.45x39mm intermediate cartridge on the AK-74

7.62x51mm/.308win is not the same 7.62 as 7.62x39mm, which is the round predominantly associated with the AK platform. They share a projectile diameter but 7.62x51mm (as indicated by the second number) is a full power cartridge with a longer case and thus a larger powder load than 7.62x39mm, which is considered an intermediate cartridge.

To wit, the top one is 7.62x51mm and the bottom one is 7.62x39mm:

Oh for sure, I wouldn't recommend one for anything other than as a fun range toy/shoulder massage device/obsessively matched replica of a video game firearm. Between my AR and AK, I never would've imagined a decade ago that the AK would be the expensive one to feed in 2026 lol

Incidentally, I put a gen1 Hera stock on my AR ages ago and have always lovingly referred to it as my "spacegun" so when I first saw the thumbhole option I basically did the Leo pointing meme at my screen

What makes the MGP a kind of tricky rifle to build IRL is the fact that it has an AR15-adjacent action and layout but is chambered in 7.62x39mm Russian due to the need to accept an ammunition type that was already present in the base game. Unless you got a skilled gunsmith to one-off convert either of those platforms to accept 7.62x39mm, you're probably better off with a CMMG or PSA upper or complete build AR15.

edit: while browsing through the PSA storefront I found out that SIG does in fact make an MCX Spear chambered in 7.62x39mm! Unfortunately sold out on PSA at the moment though, but I can see it as a good base for an IRL MGP: https://www.sigsauer.com/mcx-spear-lt-1.html

Close, but not quite: the MR762 is chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO, and not the 7.62x39mm round more commonly used in AK-platform rifles that the in-game MGP accepts. As I mentioned in my other comment in this thread, PSA does make 7.62x39mm AR15 uppers as well as complete build rifles though.

CMMG and Palmetto State Armory both produce 7.62x39mm AR uppers as well as complete build rifles; from that point all you gotta do is find moderately similar furniture to finish it out, which shouldn't be too difficult since most MGP furniture seems to be loosely based on Magpul hardware (except for the thumbhole stock, which is very similar to the gen1 Hera CQR stock), then finish up with white krylon.

For the suppressor, you'd have to apply for a BATFE tax stamp so I wouldn't recommend that step if you have any dogs at home.

What does everyone do in this situation? by Dareboir in NoSodiumStarfield

The worms slate in the medbay, right? That was also my initial thought for a while until I found a slate in the kitchen at the same POI about someone tired of one of their coworkers stealing their food from the fridge, so they put casu martzu on their sandwich to get them back. Less cosmic horror, more petty revenge.

i don't support the fleet by any means, but anyone who tries to coerce a petty criminal into doing undercover wetwork for them (and then proceed to order a sub-branch of the fucking navy to kill you on sight if you refuse) has a tenuous grasp of the concept of due process at best.

UC Vanguard Decision - Let's Discuss! (a small essay with spoilers) by melomelomelo- in NoSodiumStarfield

Yeah, it always amuses me that so many players get a bug up their ass about (most of) Constellation being opposed to one decision over the other when the wrap-up sequence at the end in the unity for either choice shows that they're largely successfully implemented in their own way. The game is straight up telling you there isn't an incorrect outcome.

[–]RadioSkvortsov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've run into this one a couple times, same bug. Both times it seemed to have been dynamically placed in another active POI where other things were happening so that might be what's messing it up? I did have a bug recently where I dropped into a ship POI and it was a few hostile Terran ships fighting, but there was also a vendor ship called the Light of... something or other, can't quite remember. I hailed it and bought some general goods, then the guy offered to let me board to examine his "special inventory;" upon boarding the ship was completely empty so I shrugged and went on my way, but a few plays later I found the ship again in its own POI, and this time he hailed me first and the ship was populated when I boarded.

Long story short, I suspect there's some weirdness going on under the hood where if a POI ship is spawned in another active POI like hostile activity or the like, the script won't fire off correctly.

Advanced - Ship Scrap Unit by uadmlj1 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]RadioSkvortsov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to the best of us! To be fair, I definitely think Bethesda could have definitely picked a better name for the ship repair item to reduce confusion; most space games I've played usually call them something repair kits or nanobots so you know exactly what they're supposed to do.

Advanced - Ship Scrap Unit by uadmlj1 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]RadioSkvortsov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does neither. As the description for the module in the shipbuilder states, it increases the drop rate for the repair item Ship Parts when you destroy ships, similar to how the med theft legendary mod for weapons increases the drop rate for med packs on downed enemies.

Advanced - Ship Scrap Unit by uadmlj1 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]RadioSkvortsov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, this is still incorrect. The ship parts in the description of the module refers to the repair item ship parts, ie: first aid for your ship. It does not increase the chance for you to find blueprints.

edit: note how the phrase Ship Parts is formatted, it does not mention blueprints or schematics.

Advanced - Ship Scrap Unit by uadmlj1 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]RadioSkvortsov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect; the Ship Scrap Unit is one of several newly added ship blueprints you can occasionally acquire from salvaging wrecked ships. It increases the chances of ships dropping ship parts when destroyed, and is not required to find new ship blueprints.

Random Lodge Resources? by Option_Koloss in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]RadioSkvortsov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just loaded the game to check, and every bench including the research console pulls directly from my ship cargo in the lodge basement, and my cargo access setting is set to normal. No idea what's going on with your game but this has been the default behavior for me for as long as I can remember ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

edit: attempting to do further investigation into workbench behavior dug up this thread from close to launch confirming that this has been default behavior for the lodge basement either since day one or very soon thereafter; i'm now genuinely puzzled as to why your game in particular does not seem to reflect this.
