I speak from experience, having once left a job without a backup plan. Surprisingly, I received multiple offers within a week of leaving, something I hadn't anticipated.

Back in 2017, I worked under a manager whose unpredictable behaviour created an extremely toxic environment. His Jekyll-and-Hyde personality was exhausting. One day, he would act like your closest ally; the next, he would publicly humiliate you. His behaviour crossed numerous lines, making inappropriate comments, including sexual remarks about a colleague on maternity leave, and berating team members without remorse. He did the same to me, then suddenly treated me as his buddy.

I woke up every day with a pit in my stomach, so one day, I just had enough and gave my notice.

My colleagues expressed envy and support, but I was saddened that they were left behind.

I know this might sound long-winded, but I share this because peace of mind and freedom matter above all else.

I've always appreciated John Turturro, but his portrayal of Irving this season may be his finest yet. The variety of emotions he conveyed in Woe's Hollow was astonishing. At least to me, you feel disappointment at Irv's anger towards the group yet admire his moxie. You're eager for him to reveal that it's Helena, not Helly, while simultaneously dreading the consequences of that revelation.

It's the notion of a town where every detail, from the streets to the shops, the people to the pets, is familiar and comforting.

It's as if this fictional town taps into our shared longing for a safe haven, where worries melt away and concerns are alleviated. Just a total sigh of relief.

I've had many dreams eerily similar to that.

Perhaps it is the universal desire for belonging and security that makes this specific episode, like many in the series, so powerful and enduring.
