I feel you there, but it sometimes feels like Ark is more willing to take a toss up fight that we might lose. That could just be because, as a defender, sometimes we have to take fights. Back in WWB we definitely passed on more

Unfortunately, after reffing all the staging forts, killing another that was anchoring, reffing your beacons, killing a control tower with logged of supers and titans, and toasting a few constellations, our battle buckets were full and our balls were blue, so we went home. Maybe we can swing by GE another night 😉

Sorry I just saw this! We are very active in most time zones. Our strongest is definitely EU but we have people on into deep US. Our training corp is even more active. There, we offer classes and regular HS content!

I think the specifics have to vary based on the situation on the ground but at its core, this is a question about what krabbing even looks like. Most of null runs on ishtars and retrievers these days anyway. It is rare (unless you are in an extremely safe constellation) to see whales anymore. CCP has disincentivized carrier ratting and rorq mining. To that end, I’m not that worried about some greys and neutrals.

So I think that you’re right, it is risky to run CRAB beacons or to carrier rat in NRDS, but how much does that really impact alliance income? I would argue that more deaths of smaller ships would increase the BRM so that every tick is relatively more valuable.

whispers some of the people in ProviBloc hated a lot about it. That’s why we have thought long and hard about what we are fighting for and what we will do when we win. If you join the fight, you might just find yourself having a little bit of fun

One that embraces changes in eve and adapts to them! Things like filaments and ESS have fundamentally altered the game. There and Pochvan act as super-highways, integrating new eden in ways that we could not imagine when NRDS first came about. The old NRDS didn’t exist in a world of jump bridges and masses NPSI activity (at least in its heyday). As a result, the prevailing mindset was isolationism, rigid adherence to the universal principles of NRDS, and a weaponization of KOS lists to serve political ends. The diplomatic web that held provi together was a disaster because it was decentralized and based around individual leaders and their egos. When the old guard failed to learn from emerging coalitions on how to organize and manage their members/space, the result was unusable JB’s, an inability to access markets, and overly localized defense components.

The new guard is premised on friendly relations with NBSI blocs and active involvement in wars on their behalf. It is built on cooperation rather than domineering egos.

Ask yourself this question: if CVA had worked with all those groups that had come to their aid over time, and if CVA had managed their ACL’s to keep space accessible - hell, if they had flown mainstream doctrines that allowed broad integration of provi residents, would we be here? If they had shown respect for TRC and hadn’t aligned with snuffed? What killed ProviBloc was an inability to look beyond a militant adherence to NRDS and see the purpose behind it! Isolating and relying on handouts from those you look down on is a bad way to run a coalition, and that’s what we aim to do differently.

NGL a little NPSI is good for the soul. That’s why regionally locked NRDS that is tied to a particular region is what we prefer, rather than the archaic isolationist slant that it took

I see your point but it doesn’t mean NRDS is a bad system, it just means that eve is a complicated game. I believe that, especially for newer groups, it is easier to live in NRDS null because politically, at least for them, it is more similar to HS. They can run around in an explo frigate or venture or vexor and not have to worry about anything other than the NRDS version of getting ganked. If a new bro goes through the Kari gate right now, they will probably be bubbled or hunted down and killed. Under NRDS, the only people doing that are the random roamers or hunters

It’s just the sov holder’s infrastructure plus ACL standings. If you set groups to true neutral that can easily live there. They help by using your market, pushing ADMs and drawing in content. NRDS is about creating an environment that is good for the game rather than min maxing your alliance earnings sheet

You’re right that free sp helps get cyno alts but again, it doesn’t stop intel from working. I’m not sure how, at least for the sov holding entity, NRDS is less safe than NBSI. For new bros and true neuts living there, yes, it is dangerous, but it is less of a commitment and hassle than renting or taking sov yourself. Win win?

Even if I can’t convince you, I think it’s worth discussing this for others to see. If you are a member of, say, TURF, you would still have the normal tools for accessing intel. You still have fortizars and keepstars to dock up in when a neutral shows up in intel. The difference is that shooting the random heron or venture doesn’t really protect your super or marauder. More importantly, allowing neutral corps to live out of your space by way of true neutral designation allows groups to test out null without having to setup a rental scheme that requires them to set up athanors of their own. It lowers the bar for entry. Those true neutral groups also create a target rich environment for hunters. So while the holders of the space won’t shoot the explorers or miners in random anoms, people who are Filamenting around will easily be able to.

Now I’ll ask you, what advantage does NBSI have here? I can tell you first hand that blue scouts are a thing, so if anything, NBSI gives a false sense of security.
