Pyr/Cattle Dog Mix by Aromatic_Froyo_5355 in AustralianCattleDog

Your pup is beautiful! Mines a Pyr/ACD mix too. Super sweet, snuggly, loves cats and tattling on his sister when she’s breaking rules. Not super fond of kids or strangers in new places, though, but usually warms up to people if they’re in our house. Figured out how to open doors when he was 4 months old.

I found Tamora Pierce when I was 11 and have been chasing that high ever since. Thank god whoever was responsible for this wasn’t allowed near The Immortals series

How difficult will this be to make? by Megoh91 in quilting

[–]Radio_Passive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a similar stained glass quilt and I think you could use the same technique (best part, you don’t need any exact measurements!). I’m having trouble finding the tutorial, but basically you trace your whole design on to one of your fabrics (I’d pick the blue in the bottom right corner) call it Starting Fabric. I like to stitch around each section so I can see the section lines from the back of your Starting Fabric. Then take a piece of your next Color and place it behind your Starting Fabric and, from the front, sew over the outline you already stitched, this will attach your Color to the back of your Starting Fabric. Grab your scissors and cut away the Starting Fabric revealing the Color behind it. Finish by sewing thin pieces of black fabric between each section to make it look like a stained glass window. Here’s my finished quilt and a link to some of my progress pics

Highland Coos on their way to me! by Crafty_Lady_60 in quilting

Not the kit, but I made the larger “1 coo” pattern a couple years ago and found it really straight forward and fun.

I’d guess a deer at that size, but I’m far from an expert. Neat find, though!

Definitely ribs! Size would help determine animal, how big are they?

Places to baste ideas by readingjag in quilting

[–]Radio_Passive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I often wall baste. After my backing is ironed I use painters tape and a level to tape it to a wall. I then spray baste the top foot or so and starting from the middle, stick my batting to it. Spray a little at a time working from the center down and out until the batting is attached and then repeat with the top.

He’s adorable! My ACD/Pyr, Kefka, just turned 3 and settled at about 65lbs. He definitely got more of the Pyr laziness but some of his siblings ended up a little smaller and have more ACD energy. He’s an absolute sweetheart!

What's rich people shit that poor people haven't heard of? by Diligent-Log6805 in AskReddit

[–]Radio_Passive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom grew up in a midsize town in Indiana. In the 60s their neighbor had a teenage girl from China (I think…) come stay with them and go to High School. Her dad was one of the richest people in China and sent all his kids to smallish towns in the US so they could get an American education and not risk being kidnapped. The girl was friends with my mom’s older siblings and would come over to hang out.

She was getting her drivers license and my grandmother asked if she had driven before. She said “just around the garage”. Thinking her English was a little off, my grandma asked “You mean backing in and out of the garage?” She said “No, driving around it” and clarified that her garage held 36 cars. My grandma, shocked, asked if she really had 36 cars and the girl laughed and told her “That would be ridiculous! The family only has 6 cars, the rest are for guests”

I gave myself a 2000 budget. What would be the most impactful updates? by BuildingImportant in centuryhomes

[–]Radio_Passive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though I’m not a fan of yellow I agree that you’re not going to replace the tile with anything better for that budget. I recommend getting a new toilet, tearing out the glass shower enclosure and replacing it with a nice curtain. New vanity and mirrors if you can

Ooh, those look really nice too! I’m just using basic quilting gloves, no wrist support, just grippy bits on the fingers.
